Ty Terry for this adventure and glad you had Carlos with you. Those books and magazines, how sad they are sitting and deteriorating. Someone could start a small library with them. As always God bless you and stay safe.

What a great time capsule, and enjoyed your tour and narration. Its unfortunate that no pictures or letters were left to give you some clues as to who the previous owners were. Those books are an awesome find - wow! That cattle barn seems a good distance from the house - imagine heading out there to feed the livestock in 3ft of snow, combined with icy winds and drifts? Wonder anyone survived the WInters. Thanks for posting this.

11:00 I'd call that an abstract geometric print. 19:00 those appear to be old seed sorters, but I won't swear to it. You would spin your seed through them, and they would separate out the chaff. As to the books and magazines, we are book lovers and trail model builders, so those are extremely cool finds. If we weren't so far away, I'd find out who the owner of the property is, and buy every single book and magazine there. 🥰

Harlequin romance novels are from the 70s and 80s. I wish I didn't know about them, but unfortunately, my mother was addicted to them when I was growing up. She read 1 sometimes 2 of those cheesy things every single day. To say I (her only daughter) was emotionally neglected would be an understatement....😉

Yuk. Useless stuff. Never read one in my life. Nor did my Mom, but she did watch the soap operas. Would love to read through the old historic books found there though.

@@danadelaplante6797 Agreed. It's like the cheapest junk food you can ingest for the mind and my Mommy Dearest sat around all day reading one after another and ingesting copious amounts of junk food and RC Colas (when she wasn't watching Jimmy Swaggert on TV and being self righteous). Fun Times !! =D

Hi Terry👋What a cool house! Love all of those vintage items in that house, brings you back to the olden days. Such a shame that it is sitting left for nature to reclaim it. That house is rotting away pretty good. Thanks for the tour Terry, much love and stay blessed❤✌👍🙏🍁🍂🌻

I was curious about the Sugar Hill Gang book and found this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_Creek_Gang I'm guessing that the door at the top of the steps was to conserve heat in the lower part of the house. I didn't see fireplaces so I'm not sure how the house was originally heated. The Victorians I've seen have a lot of doors to shut off individual rooms and conserve heat. Thanks Terry, as always a great explore!

Most of those books are between 50-30 years old with a few exceptions. I found a medical journal that was published in 1796 in a garage once. THAT was an impressive find.

Those are old grain/wheat thrashers in the barn . It knocks the grain from the stock giving you the grain and straw. Some of them were animal operated. You tied a goat / sheep or dog to a tread walk and made them walk all day to operate it.

Rocking chairs became very popular in the early sixties because President John F. Kennedy had one that he used to help with his bad back. The ones in the living room look like they date to then.

Kinda agree, just silly old fiction. If they were historic books or newspapers, may be. But more about the house itself would be interesting, still nice video they shared taking a step inside. Wonder the location of this old country home.
