I was so close to visiting South Korea and Japan at one point. I'm a Motion Capture actor and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to work in Japan and visit South Korea.

Steve, my heart goes to those abandoned cats. I am a mother cat of four and I hope i can go visit them one day. But if i were you, go back in there just for cats. feed them, and investigate further for them coz i have searched YT about cats in ikishima and most of their vids have millions and millions of views coz there are a lot of cat lovers out there. The title of your vid should be about cat so it will feed to account of cat lovers. Just my take -- help the cats and the cats will help u. 🐅🐆🐈🐯🐱🐾😻😻😻

Its really sad to see! 😢 It's too bad that out of the few people remaining on the island don't try find an animal rescue for all those cats that were unfortunately abandoned due to the restraunt owner passing away! I absolutely love your videos and you really are my favorite urban explorer that takes their time to explain the true history of the places you visit and information that you dont know, you speculate and can wonder about the people that are no longer there. That whole town is just abandoned except for one or two people or families still living there in that eerie and empty place. Xan you imagine living in an apartment building and everybody else is gone, and tou are the only person left there for years! I think i would kind of slowly go nuts! I like being alone and crave not being around other people, but thats a little too weird, even for me! But the rent is goid! Lol! Thanks for the wonderful exploration of that neat old mining town that us no longer occupied. The cats are just one eerie example of what happens when nature takes back what once was its! That place is huge and that there are only a tiny bunch of peopke who still live there! Thanks Steve!

Hey Steve and Crew, i love watching your videos. My husband, kids, and I live down in Sasebo. Japan, and even down here we see so many stray cats everywhere. I love them all and wish I could save them, but we have signs posted to not feed the cats. How can you not when they are literally starving and begging for food. Japan does have a cat problem, but it surely makes it so difficult to not want to save them all. Fukaoka also has a lot of stray cats too even ones on cat island. Enjoy your adventures and your time in Japan. 🇯🇵❤

The left-behind photo albums saddened me. Wheverever these people are now, memories are the only thing that link them back to their root. There will be moments when they think of the past, and such photo albums will then be the only physical thing that they have for driving down the memory lane. You have a kind heart to put them in a shelf to reduce the damage from the elements to the albums.
