Yeah, great memories from this place! I used to go raving there when it was called The Candy Store. it was one of my regulars from around 1999-2002. Weird seeing it like this...

Opened this veuue in 2000 as Zanzibar Plymouth, was the Deputy GM. Spent 2 years there before going back to Zanzibar Newport, South Wales. Fantastic video, the office with the pink small Helium Canister was my office, the desk is still in the same place lol. Sad to see the venue looking in a state but delighted to see the old venue again, I knew every room you went in. Great memories :-) Simon Hughes

Blast from the past. Was trying to work out which was Ritzy and which was Powerhouse. Looked as though they made the Ritzy side into a very ordinary looking dance floor.

It’s so sad to see! When this place was Candy Store it was the most amazing place on the earth, magical! Room 1 Hard House/Trance, Room 2 Funky House either beautiful purple and leopard print decor and drapes (my favourite room). Room 3 chill out room upstairs! Went here religiously every Saturday.. strange to see posters advertising Wurzels in there and food for sale, you wouldn’t have wanted food when I went there.. I wish someone would restore it back to its former glory. Sadly the super club days are gone 😢

1992 was my probable last visit. It was pretty much as you see it, many a night spent spinning shapes to soft rave and dance floor classics, I remember once the fire alarms went off and the whole building evacuated over some (now long gone) steel fire escapes which landed on the top of the multistorey (also long gone) carpark......

Blue plasters can be identified by metal detectors. They're usually used where food is prepared, so any in the food can be detected.
@pikeonatrike3 жыл бұрын
That stella glass your mate picked up is ancient. I have the same glass from about 10 yr ago . Pint glass with a stem. And the blue plasters are for kitchen use so they cant be lost in food
