Great video! I actually got to experience the "Flame Room" and even stayed overnight at one of the "Cottages" back in 1973 a few years before the Flame room finally burned down and the cottages were abandoned and fell to decay. An overnight stay was about $20.00. The Flame room was very interesting, with lots of stuffed animals and neon signs, the whole atmosphere reminding me of being in a speak-easy from the 1930s. From the back of the Flame room lounge, you could walk out and see over the pool that was once used, the scent of sulfur still evident. I was probably one of the last individuals to actually experience the last remnant of the old Hotwells hotel.

I not only had beers in the "Flame Room" I also swam in the sulfur water pools. This was in the 70's.

My husband used to swim at the Hot Wells swimming pool when he was a little boy. I sure would like to go swimming there. Hot or warm sulfur water is very healing to swim in. Even cold sulfur water is extremely healing. People go to Hancock Springs swimming pool in Lampasas and experience a lessening of joint pain in less than an hour. That swimming pool is cold sulfur water.

This is a great find! My wife and I were out there not that long ago and had no idea that those cottages were there. Definitely making another trip out there soon. Thanks for sharing this.

I first went here in the summer of 2014, the caretaker of the property guided me around and told me about the history of the hotel

Me and my daughter's went there yesterday. Very interesting place with a lot of history. I also found those ruins and thought it was the hotel. But you're right it the cabins why didn't I think of that. I also have a you tube channel and was thinking of a video. Thanks for the video I enjoyed it. I will subscribe 👍

I'm fascinated by all the places in Texas that had allegedly healing waters! I hadn't heard of this one.
