This beautiful manor was built in 2006 for the late Dr Hector Collison (a prominet Maryland cardiologist with about 9 practices in the area). Who died in a plane crash with his son in 2008 (just a mere two years after it was built). Dr Collison had many practices around the state of Maryland. His widow Connie Collison could not keep up with the lavish life her husband left her as Dr Collison had defaulted in his life insurance. Dr Collison was also a ‘pilot’ as a hobby. This manor was sadly 17 years in the planning and only for Dr Collison & his wife & kids to enjoy for two years before he died in the plane crash. The owners after that were rumoured to be a college basketball player & his wife supposedly from Nigeria. The man apparently died overseas a suspicious death & hence why the house was abandoned in the late 2010s. As of RECENT I read it was being auctioned off! Not even near the $10 million price tag it was sold to by Dr Collison’s widow (who they built for $5 million). I did heaps of research and many news articles on it even on social media! Rest in peace Dr Collison such a tragedy 😢

Properties are never truly abandoned. SOMEBODY still owns it, whether it be a private entity or the government. Our family owns several properties all over the US and even in H.K., but we don't v have the wherewithal to deal with the upkeep of all of them. The majority are rented, but a couple could be called "abandoned" since no one has lived in nor stepped foot in them for 10 years. One of our places doesn't even have the water turned on. HOWEVER, we still pay own and pay the property taxes on them. We have had our own share of trespassers breaking in and vandalizing these properties so I don't look highly on this type of stuff.

As I observe these videos, it becomes apparent that belongings are often abandoned hastily in the wake of overwhelming grief. For those who have experienced loss, the holidays are the worst. Repent of urs sins (Repent means Change ur Mind turning away from sinful things and being truly sorry for it.) trust Jesus and give ur life to him He Loves you cares about you more than anyone ever will! we are saved By Grace Trough Faith!,this is sin: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23 For all have sined and felt short of the Glory of God. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Just a little clarification for everyone. The story told in the beginning is about the original owner. Who passed in 08, the home was sold shortly after and had multiple tenants. The Doctor was an honest man in the DMV area. He had 4 kids 2 which were his sons who were in there mid 20s at the time of the crash and a youngest daughter who was around 12. The youngest is a doctor while the two older sons are doing well too the oldest actually works in sports media.There story is cool I guess for click bait but the belongings in there are from families after that. Also the mom went the depression caused by the tragedy...they were able to move inside there previous home which is also a pretty huge place too after she sold this beauty.

For those who have made comments about things for the taking or "free stuff" : Athough , it is abandoned. It does belong to someone. Someone owns the deed to the house/ land . Whoever owns the deed owns the contents. It would be illegal to take ( steal) any of it's contents. Just because a property is in poor condition such as a shack in the woods ...it always belongs to someone whether it be an individual or an entity ( i.e. bank ) . Furthermore , you know that it does not belong to you .

There’s a KZbin video of a 2008 news story on how the house was unfinished and how the widow was left practically broke when the plane crash that killed the doctor and so. happened. There’s video inside the mostly empty house at the time. Whoever lived there afterwards left all the expensive stuff behind. None of that belonged to a grieving widow. I’m not sure if the Nigerian story is true or not, but it’s a plausible explanation.
@memoeg33Ай бұрын
The stuff left behind was from a Denver Nuggets player That was the last owner of the house I can tell because of the DJ White owl mixtape (nostalgia for me) in the green CD case and the young jeezy CD album it’s a very rare for white folks to have that only certain kind of people will listen to that type of music. Trust me, I know. How sad how each owner of the house died

The story of Dr Hector Collison was tragic. He didn’t pay his premium on his life insurance for three months. The two million dollar plan was cancelled. The home was unfinished and there was still eight million owed on the property. Wife was unable to sell in the state it was in. Eventually sold for $5.8 million.

I went down the rabbit hole. Collison had 4 children. Only 1 died in the plane crash with him. The wife moved to Chicago with her mother for a while, then eventually moved back to Baltimore by the time the youngest was in high school. The mother pleaded with the Potomac area high schoolbprincipal to allow her daughter to attend and drove an hour each way. The youngest daughter is now a Doctor of Pshchology, graduated from Johns Hopkins and UCLA. Not sure what happened to the other children.

I mean it would have taken a considerable amount of time to pack up a house this huge and if they had time to pack 99.9% why not take the other 1%... to me it also feels like someone was thinking they would get back for the last few things. I read in another comment that the widow of the Dr who died in the plane crash sold this to a Nigerian Dr would was then deported as he was suspected of terrorism, and he died in a car accident. Currently the home is in some kind of legal situation with the woman a Natalie who was also listed on the house with the Nigerian Dr. Money can’t buy you happiness and it doesn’t bring back a loved one, this is a beautiful home that at one time likely had laughter and children and happy times. Now it serves as a reminder that our time here in finite, no amount of money can replace the people we love.

It would be horrible to live in a house like that. It’s so depressing. So cold and impersonal

Do you get to keep any of this stuff that you find in that house

This house is under extreme surveillance. The neighborhood has come together and locked the property down. There are ring cameras all over the place and everything is sealed up. They'll be on you as soon as you're over the wall - regardless of time of day or weather...

Stupid to pay all that money to monitor an empty house
@kimdale5308 Жыл бұрын
How do you know that and I doubt it. Nobody is monitoring that house owners are deported back to Nigeria

how does a house look this good so many years later?

Cause it was likely built well. You can always tell when something was built well. Btw....money can't buy happiness. That's just something that someone sarcastically made up!

If the husband was involved with the mob. The wife may have been put in witness protection and only allowed enough clothes to last a week or so. She may not have been able to take all the clothes or has to hastily grabbed what she could in a very short time.

This is the unfinished mega-mansion of renowned cardiologist Dr. Hector Collison. The 27,000 square foot home is on the market for $5,500,000 and contains 10 bedrooms, 10.5 bathrooms, an indoor pool, a basketball court, and much more. It is located on Bentcross Drive in Potomac. Hector and his 15 year old son died in a single engine plane crash in the Shenandoah Mountains. Him and his family were set to move into this sprawling mansion and now his wife is forced to sell it. The bank says that they owe $8,000,000 on the house.
