Your also trying to tune off speed density now with no MAF and in open loop with no 02 sensors. Things will get funky until you sort that out

It's probably still searching fo a maf sensor since its stock. May need to do speed density/map sensor because it dosent know how much air is going in vs coming out. Also check for vacume leaks. Spray carb cleaner in small areas as engin idles and if u hear it rev u know it has a vacume leak and causing high Idle

Keep the enclosed trailer!!! It keeps your stuff secure, keep you out of the weather at the track and is a storage unit for one car all the time. Look what happened to Roadkill, one of their cars got stolen right off the open trailer. Also can you let us in on why you are moving back to Orlando? As for boosting the rx7 ask Matt Happel which is best for your set up. I would think a blower would be a simpler install but more costly and power limited compared to a turbo. But the turbo will require more fab work and placement might be an issue. Build this thing for where you want to be in the future, if you think one day you would like to go to Pro2 then build it for that. That way you can still have a pro am / street legal car with the Miata.

Before you chase the fuel gremlins down, do you think a tune may be the solution to the issue you are having? Like you said in the video, the RX-7 might be a truck tune on an LS1, which typically has a dynamic idle that will idle high until the vehicle is up to temperature if I recall correctly.

If you sell the trailer, get a short bumper pull enclosed. Put some leveling bags in the rear, and a bed top. You can store tons of stuff in the bed of the truck, and sleep there if you want, and you still have the trailer to work in when you need to.

Taylor yes they are the injectors but drain the fuel because is old and is making the engine to rev up and when the fuel gets old it makes same thing lick dirt

As I mentioned before...you can get some really good deals on trucks out of Texas...really worth the flight and drive back IMO... Enclosed trailer really is a better setup for distant events IMO, but your choice. With all the land Ben has...can't see where are you going to park/store the Sub, MLA, truck and JZ in Orlando. Best wishes for the coming months...

I agree, I see nice lower mile diesels all the time in Texas, a lot of ranch's and farms use them for a short time and then upgrade. Just gotta check the frames and suspension because they can be HARD miles.

Those solid diff bushings should help a lot. But just be prepared for the nightmare that comes with those stock diff mounts. The front bracket will likely go first with the ls in there.

Hey Taylor, with the high rpm at idol, i know my l98 was doing the same thing because of a pinched o-ring betweent the throttle body and i take manifold. Just spray brake cleaner all around the throttle body and intake manifold while its idoling and if it starts to stall on you then you’ve found the problem area. Probly not gunna help much but if the injectors dnt end being the problem then this might be worth a try

If you want to find a small vac leak, get it idling, and spray around with starting fluid. You'll hear the idle change if it gets pulled in from somewhere it shouldn't.

my engine did the same thing and the TPS wires were swapped at the tps connector where I made my harness and got two of the tps wires backwards

My personal thought is, I as an unskilled drifter would want a supercharger. Smooth linear power. But you are balls to wall crazy on the track so I don't think you would ever fall out of boost. Your call but I can tell you were more enthused about the turbo idea.

dwarf365 nah drifting is mostly full throttle with lots of blips here and there. Plus turbo is better in almost all aspects. No parasitic loss, more top end, more over all power, etc

You should use the SLR angle kit! They make an fc kit, and supposedly it gives you like 65 degrees of angle. I haven’t seen any reviews for the fc specific kit, but slr Stuff is always great so I doubt it would be bad

1jz fc I almost bought a small block swapped 88 a few months back and they emailed me back really fast. It bolts on where the factory ball joint usually does, and it extends the track 50mm or so per side. Seems interesting

Hey man I say run some nice 0ga or bigger wire from the battery to the starter since the battery is in the back. I would also run a lot larger ground wire from the battery aswell

If you put a turbo or procharger on that Rx7 I would highly recommend putting a dry-sump like on the Miata. It's going to need that extra and consistent flow of oil. Unless you want to be pulling a Hert and swapping motor like they're used condoms (one time use)

Nice looking IAC motor. That broken or modified? That thing on the right of the throttle body might need to be plugged in. It make it rev up and down through the computer. You also need a good engine temp sensor that gets hot and wet for that iac to idle down on a cold start.

Please keep the enclosed, and also. Build the FC to a PRO2 level car, you will need one eventually, and nice to take your time building one perfectly and having it dialed.

If you want tuning help, just send me a message. I do this stuff all the time. Setting you with a speed density tune is a cake walk with Team Viewer. Please get a IAT sensor installed in the mean time too if it's missing. When it thinks you like at the north pole with -38 degree intake temps, it's not going to run correctly in that 90+ degree Florida heat.

Why is it pulling 5* idle? If check and see if there is something somewhere where it thinks it needs to be puking that kind of timing. Most ls idle is assertions 18* give or take. Double check the engine specs in the calibration and make sure everything size wise is correct because that will change airflow it uses thinks it should have and throw the calibration off.

I use starter fluid to find my vacuum leaks in my Supra spray little in one area see if changes the idle I never would have found the vacuum leak if it wasn't for that trick

Depending on your skills as a fabricator it could be the same or more to turbo vs roots.

You can typically turbo cars cheaper. Especially ls’s. ‘eBay’ turbo kits are relatively budget priced, so you can easily and cheaply turbo an ls. Whereas there’s not really any market for cheap super chargers, so most are really expensive
