It is sad when you think of all the memories families made in these buildings.

This used to be a really neat place. Where you were filming were the villas. Right next to the villas is a three or four story building that is now used for the Brittain Group ( I think that's the name ). That building was also part of the Affordable Family Resort. Those were their traditional hotel rooms. They had a big bird cage in the lobby with a few birds that would chirp and sing when you walked in. Also a beautiful garden around the hotel office. Along the back side of the property, Yaupon Drive, maybe?, they had a pond with ducks and geese and I think they even had a rooster for a time. When the houses were built across the way the neighbors started complaining about the noise from the critters and they eventually shut down the pond. Maybe the city got after them about the birds, I don't know. They had a lawn with games, too, bocci ball and the like. It's sad that everyone gravitates to the new glitzy resorts these days. Glad to have the memories of the fun places.

Is it closed because it was sold and is waiting to be demolished, then developed? It looks like quite a large piece of property.

This brings up a few interesting questions. Who is responsible for the demolition and removal of building/items etc.? Is it hazardous to just leave everything there without anybody watching (electrical issues; rats, bugs, squatters, leftover food or hazardous material etc.)?

Mattresses: essentially worthless publicly used, large, heavy, difficult to move. It makes sense to abandon mattresses.
@rodneywaugh85356 жыл бұрын
Well.....it's on the south side of the strip....that area has gone downhill for quite a few years......but the old family/individual owned places just can't compete with the multi million dollar places that are going up everywhere.....sad.....
