Enjoyed your video, and although not from there, I visited many times in my life (from Charlotte). Folks tell me I just turned 70, but I don't feel a day over 69! Anyway, the only pic that threw me was at 7:05 when you said the driveway to the hotel was the original entrance to the Pavillion. I can't figure that out relative to the ocean. I'll check back in case you respond, and I'll be checking out your other vids! Thanks.

I spoke to the next door neighbors in May. They said an elderly couple owns the place and it isn't for sale. And sometimes family comes and uses it a few times a year. It looked abandoned in May 2024. But the grass was cut by a landscaper.

I’m sad to hear the reports, and was hoping it wasn’t true, but from everything I can gather Vibes has left us. We were ALL inspired to do what we do by the OG of Myrtle Beach KZbin, MR. MYRTLE himself. Thanks for the many years of entertainment, and messages. Shame we never got to hang out. 🕯️

I’ve been here many times in the mid sixties when we lived in Charleston and when I was just a wee lad. Always loved the boat ride.

I used to come here all the time 20+ years ago to play Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2. They used to have a big screen for Super Street FIghter 2 with pedestal controls. Looks so different now.

I enjoyed that little trip...just turned 70, so was about the age of one of those little blond boys in the '63 clip. I can almost feel that super-hot asphalt when my foot would slip over the edge of my rubber flip-flop, and smell the cotton-candy and other foods riding the breeze...maybe even the sound of that enchanting German pipe organ if it was having a good day...HaHa. Peace to all, Randy

I was fool the guesser and Sue Bass was the reason for the pavilions downfall. She had zero management experience in amusements, and the Lord only knows why Burroughs and Chapin allowed her to tear apart.

My Wife and I almost stayed there. It was down the block from The Sun Villa aka Roach Motel. The SunVilla was a block and a half walk from the shore. While Victory was just across the street. It's a crying shame to see these mom and Pop motel being torn down.

I moved here to Myrtle Beach in 87. My sister & her family came down that weekend and we were at the Pavilion when this happened. We almost got on the farris wheel but my sister wanted to go on another ride first & then the farris wheel. It's horrible that the boy lost his life but when we heard people screaming, the young girl was hanging from the bars. How traumatic that had to have been for her.

A piece of my childhood that will never be forgotten. Went there all through the 80’s when it was Wild Rapids. It was a little different back then. It was a small mountain that appeared to be covered in rocks. It was some sort of foam and once it got a nick in it people would pick at it as they went by. It had three slides and back then you could get a running start and go down head first. What a joy it was to grow up in the 80’s before the days of styrofoam bicycle helmets. We’d spend a day of our vacation there. Then hit all the places that were so iconic back then. The Pavilion Park, the Magic Attic, Studebakers, Xanadu, Draculas Castle, Mother Fletchers and so many others. I’m gonna start building a Time Machine in my garage…..who’s ready to go back.

I was one of the ones who put gum on the wall of the tunnel on the Log Flume.🙋🏻‍♀😂This one time my brother, cousin and I begged my parents to stop at a gas station on the way there so we could get some gum to put on the wall. 😂 I loved the Rainbow. Not scary at all.🙂 Now I did not ride the Haunted Hotel. The Skelton at the balcony that moved scared the crap out of me. Flash forward to 2005 when I was 14 I got the courage to finally ride it but it broke down while waiting in line. Never had the chance to ride it since the Pavilion closed down the next year and for whatever reason my family didn’t go the Pavilion that final season. You also gotta good view of MB while riding the swings.

Sorry but you mentioned price. Price isn’t bad especially since you’re eating fresh seafood at a beautiful clean place with a beautiful view and happening area. It’s not McDonald’s or Red lobster. Most times it cost me $50/$100 per person. Get what you pay for.
