If you're returning you should at least get a Geiger counter because I'm assuming that lab was to test contamination levels so there's a good chance it's hot. Also, the room with all the lockers and showers is probably a decontamination room, so that could very well be hot too. Be carful, radioactive material can come home with you as dust on your clothes. Pretty cool video though.

This reactor was never even active. They started building it in the early 70s, and the plug got pulled in the late 80s before they ever put it into use, and was dismantled and decontaminated by the mid 90s. From what I understand, the surrounding areas couldn't be evacuated quickly if there was an incident at the plant. Also, nuclear power got alot of bad press during that time because of the 3 mile island incident and Chernobyl incident. Other urbex people have gone into this place with geiger counters, and they actually read lower radiation than outdoors, because of the thickness of the walls and isolation built into the building.

As your title is right now, it is click-Bait and untrue as far as anyone watching this video can tell. You would most likely get the same amount of views if you took the part about Radiation poisoning off the title because it is a Nuclear Power Plant and something that people want to see. However, while I am glad you didn't get radiation poisoning and would not ever wish it on you, I feel like I was lied to and tricked into watching this video by a deceptive misleading, click-bait title.

Nice video. It was amusing how cavalier you were about waving that 'aircraft landing light' around by all the outside windows while exploring the offices. It is nice different urbex channels have uploaded videos of this place. Each one provides a different viewpoint and includes different areas. The downside is if it becomes too popular, it will become vandalized, or security will become significant.

To RnK All Day- I listened to your rant in part one about how you don't reveal locations to preserve, and how you don't believe in disturbing or tagging. So I'm having a hard time reconciling what I see at 10:05- your tag on the chalk board. Did you do that? Or if someone else did it, did you erase it?
@rebelflex32727 жыл бұрын
IMO, I would say that its a chalk board , Thats not disturbance or Tagging really , Chalkboards are freegame if you will , There ment to write on , As a smalltime explorer myself thats the code i would use , Thats just my 2 cents on the sentiment

the nucleur part of this plant was decommisioned in 1995..the turbine went to davis besse and the fuel went to limerick...BUT in 2002 a 100 mw gas fired turbine was commisioned using the existing switch gear and in 2004 2 50 kw wind turbines were erected on site..this is still a rather active site.
@pbrexn17 жыл бұрын
also..this site never actually went fully operational..it only ever got to run at %5 during testing before it was shut down...it was thaught that there was no good emergency evacuation plan for the neighboring areas.

Pt2 was just as awesome as Pt1.......and that audio backing you put in places was just perfect.....very very nail bitting stuff. As a Person in TV production can I just give you one hint though....and I am not knocking anything because this is great, but in one of your second camera shots I noticed you are carrying a camera with a ShotGun Mic...........if I were you, I would point the mic back at yourself to get rid of that muffled sound.......I really like hearing what you have to say as you walk around......the perfect thing though would be to wear a Tie or Lapel Mic.....or if you can afford it, a wireless lapel mic......that would be awesome. Thanks again for putting the effort in........I am probably to old to do this stuff these days.....can't run fast enough hahaha, but I really enjoy watching you guys do it.....thumbs up

I am thinking about grabing that Rode ball mic w the swivel so I can swing it around for that. I would do it with this shotgun, but it will look like a piece of male anatomy going into my mouth. Lol! Thanks for the view and support!

Kirby is right to say there is more going on there, the humming noise could be water pumps running to keep the rod storage tanks cooled down, we don't know if they still use any reactors or not but the absence of guards/ cameras tells me its not in use.

So why the click bait? All cap titles. abandoned! Especially when its not. Your in a section of a nuclear plant. It has power and there are turbines or generators running. That does not equal abandoned in any sense of the word. You get to the offices, we got to be careful cause this connects to the new site and there are people there. guess what, NOT abandoned. just fyi that control room wasnt a reactor control room. I suspect that was mostly hvac stuff. Nuclear control rooms are locked down with big super heavy ass doors, that control room was just behind regular doors. Still neat, just saying it wasnt a main control room. Ya know, its one thing to explore a place that actually is abandoned. Its called trespassing when you know its actually not abandoned. ABANDONED, HAS FULL POWER! Again, guess what, that means its not abandoned! I wonder how many times you guys have been arrested for trespassing on sites that actually have people. I give ya props that it doesnt look like you mess with stuff but still you really should stop the all cap click bait stuff.
