The funeral cards in the form of bookmarks are really common here. It’s funny because this building is actually listed online for potential buyers as not needing a lot of maintenance 😂 This convent was originally made for Les Sœurs de Sainte-Anne. You can see a picture of their founder, at 8:45. Her name is Mother Marie Anne Blondin. There’s a private school not too far named after her (birth name Esther Blondin). Also, we’re pretty bad in Quebec at keeping historical buildings in their original shape when they need to be repurposed. A lot of them are made up to be more modern looking because it is less expensive and quicker to deal with. Great video as always !

One day you're going to throw us for a loop and look in a mirror and yell, "What is up guys?" in French. :) I've never seen funeral cards in bookmark form, but I like that. I sometimes keep funeral cards in my Bible for a while. My father-in-law passed away in January and his is postcard style. It's in the flap of my Bible cover. If it were a bookmark I'd probably use it to flip thru pages and hold my place. It's a good way to remember someone. Enjoyed the video. Thank you.

These type of cards are typical in the Quebec province. My parents were from about 50 kilometers from Quebec city.

At least you didn't have to go too far for this old convent/residence. Not long before closing, the residence made the news for illegally firing a sick employee. They were fined plus had to pay the employee a good chunk of money for discrimination. The place is wrecked but the funny thing is that the government department that deals with historic buildings lists it as merely needing "maintenance".

first thing, i missed you, i havent been getting any notifs, and when i looked for your vidis, i found one min to a few seconds, but secondly that tree, i shouldnt be even admitting this but, that green tree with the red fire poking looking kind of flowers on it, i ate one and almost died, everything looked trippy purple and a small dog found me and the dog owner came and got me and took me to the er, and saved my life! i was in the park when i found that tree, crazy right?

That nursing home looked like a nightmare. I wish you had a mask on in that building with all that mold. The way those ceilings were leaking you could have used an umbrella in there. Just a depressing place especially with all those memorial cards for the folks that died. I’m afraid for you when you go in these places alone. You could fall thru any one of those spongee floors or come face to face with a squatter. Just please be careful. Overall it was an enjoyable video.

I am new here, though I have been subbed for a little while.. Do you travel to these places or do you come across them on the way (i.e. van life, exploration life, etc,)? Regardless, I love your content and your attitude! This is my full dream someday! If I could take my work on the road with me (which I currently can but I plan to do a 2-5 year plan first) then this will be my main focus) - nomadic life and prioritizing abandoned places! Great video... Love the energy and dedication!

So far 3 Santa's and Christmas ornaments in the hallway on the 3rd floor. All the Christmas decorations being left is really odd considering the it closed in the fall of 2016.🤨 That first room in the basement is the Activities Room. I've worked in LTC and Assisted Living both and have never seen the residents dining room in the basement of either if those types of care facilities. The basements I've been in have the OT/PT, Laundry, Housekeeping, Maintenance Departments and the boiler room. I'm watching from Wichita, KS.~APRIL LIPKE
