William H Graves is a TN native from 1890's a lawyer who moved to Birmingham AL and he began to invest in real estate and organized the Graves Shale Brick Company in 1901. Living in TN I am facinated with history. Love this vid 🥰

Oh happy day! A vid from RnK! I have missed my fave Urbexes! So good to see you both and so good to join you for a lil while. Such a pretty spot too. Aside from the old inscribed cobblestones, it could be a back block in the bush in South Western Australia! Thanks Robb and Kristy! xxx

I used to drive a Model A Ford and know what they can do, and when that road was in good shape, you could easily have made 40MPH all day. A Model T would have done less. More expensive cars could have hit much higher speeds. That brick road was probably a speedway for the daredevils of the day. Hope your Jeep brings you years of fun. I had a lot of fun years ago in my WWII army jeep that was built by Ford.

Hi, that’s great. Isn’t there another one like this but is near Atlantic City, it’s in the series Board Walk Empire? This was built in the same fashion as the sidewalk highways of old Route 66. To save money, only the width of one car was laid down and when you met another car, both cars passenger side wheels went on the shoulder while the driver side stayed on the pavement. Once passed, both cars would drive on the bricks.

Besides the alligator , venomous snakes, black bears, Florida Panthers , some regions have crocodiles and you might just meet the skunk apes. Some of the bugs and insects can get to size of your palm. If you choose to go off road riding. You might think about getting a swamp vehicle, Also; watch out for bayonet bushes. They can cut you bad. But only if choose go deep off road. Welcome to Florida. From someone who live in the state for years.

You were on the right road as it were with the model T ,you see brick isnt a good aggregate to build roads out of especially as it's handmade bricks they crumble full of imperfections with out any limitation on the number of imperfections per brick at the turn of the 20 century(The modern test is Non Destructive Testing of which I did 14 years in Aerospace) The weight of model T is light as cars go, as the years went by the brick deteriorates through age cars and commercials got much heavier.
