I grew up in that area. My mother lived on her grandmother's farm in Eagle. Our family , on our father's side were the first European descent to permanently reside in Wisconsin,(1835) Racine. They were fur traders. 😁 My father was raised outside of Milwaukee.

I was born in Milwaukee. Great grandmother came over after the war. When mom came along they moved to Plainfield. Dad riding his motor cycle stopped for gas and a cold root beer. Mom went for a ride and then got married and had me. I loved growing up in that little town.

@@neildewitt2869 I grew up to age 7 in zBlue River. Spent summers with my grandparents at the cottage on the backwaters of the Wisconsin. I feel like I was raised in privilege. Ha! Ha! Did not have a motorcycle until age 16, and never had a dirt bike. My wife had one, a Honda 125X, so our kids know what it is like to get out into nature! I am a hiker--- I take it step by step. 🌿🌾🌼

I've been to Eagle but don't remember another about it. I was going muskey fishing and nothing else mattered.

You seen the infamous British horror movie "Eden Lake" (2008) yet? If some American production company decides to remake it Stateside (surprised one hasn't by now!) this location would be a perfect place to film it!

I have not seen it but I will definitely make myself familiar with it! Thank you for the reference.

If property taxes are paid, the property is not abandoned or as some youtubers say "lost". Just saying. We have what looks like an abandoned cabin on our property, its nestled in the woods. we get trespassers all the time, we had to stop using it for storage because we kept getting ripped off. Old doesn't =abandoned. Just saying
@jeffmrochinski7 ай бұрын
Very true! People should not be trespassing on private property. The nice thing about the Paradise Springs location is that it is owned by the DNR and open to the public. A great place to take the family- kids love it!

Is this an old Al Capone hang out too?
@wisconsinplacesarecool Жыл бұрын
It looks like something of that nature, but I could not find any connections to Capone in an internet search. 😀

@wisconsinplacesarecool I learned a lot from your video re PABST, that and Flastaff were the two dominant beers when our old brewery shut down many moons ago. Now nashville has a brewery around every corner. My neighbor went to Arkansas the springs after she had turned 85, just because of AL Capone, she was a Baptist and came up on Capone lore, thanks for the video 😄

You should scout out the properties before you film. I lived in Milwaukee in the 40’s & 50’s. At that time there were a handful of breweries. Pabst - PBR was at the top of the list. They were extremely wealthy & everything they did was quality. Pick up a PBR & you will see why. Video poorly done
@wisconsinplacesarecool Жыл бұрын
This was not a documentary video, but rather a video exploring a new place. Try the John Gurda or Milwaukee Historical Society KZbin channels if you prefer documentaries. Here is an exploratory video tour of the Pabst Brewery we did that you might appreciate: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXLQhn-wf7Karrc

I love videos like this. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this to you before but the sound in this video is awful. I can hear you just about but I can't hear the lady who I'm guessing is the wife? That's the only complaint. I just subscribed and I'm watching from England 🏴
