Now it sits vacant again.

One day you should come to Tri County Ohio because there is a lot of stores that are gone like for an example: They have a old toys r us building that is still abonoded, A whole Mall is gone, Best Buy, Costco is game, there's a ton of stuff that's gone! Like Party acity, Babies r us, and more 😮🤯

Hi Wallie, In,St.Clair Shores, (a,suburb of Detroit)is an, abandoned Payless ShoeSource located on Harper, south of East 9,Mile.The Payless ShoeSource has been abandoned and Up,for Lease for years. And, the old St.Clair Shores Kmart Building is now a Kroger Store. At,least Kroger has demolished the old Kmart Building and rebuilt a,Brand New Kroger Store. And, to this very day and The Payless ShoeSource Building is still left abandoned and still for Lease. The Harper and East 9,Mile Road area is a high volume area for anyone who wants to open up a new business. 7:33 7:33

Payless is one of the saddest business that went out of business my childhood. Amazing video! Remember very well going to the one in Washington Pennsylvania at trinity Point plaza by the Walmart! It closed in 2020 with the chain.

If you ever go back to Battle Creek, MI theres a Liquor store which is a repurposed Payless Shoes now called Payless Liquor. Coolest repurose I have seen for a minute.

The Payless went out in 2019 or early 2020. By the summer of 2020 it was rented to someone who sold Donald Trump merchandise during the runup to the election.

Payless was a good store.... Then ShopKo bought them. The demise wasn't too far after. If my memory is good, the name began as Payless Shoe Stores.

It's funny because this specific location did close like a century ago. It recently within the last 4 years was a temporary "Trump 2020" merchandise shop. They had a banner wrapped in front of the Payless show source faded sign. My mom used to take me here to buy shoes as a kid lol

I only bought shoes at a Payless once. I don't know what brand they were,but the eyelets where the laces went through them kept ripping through the material when I tied them. Probably were some generic brand,but after those crappy shoes I never stepped in their store again.

I live here! Yeah, during the 2020 campaign, a bunch of Trump crazies rented out this store and turned it into a pro-trump shop. People sitting on their lawn chairs with bullhorns shouting at the traffic...very deranged and hilarious at the same time.

During the 2020 election cycle this building was used as a Trump store. All the flags, stickers, etc. in the area for his re-election campaign in the area mostly came from that store. It was closed in 2021, IIRC.
