After one of my friends was talking about the old nightclub called Basins in the Tricorn Centre Portsmouth, I remembered that I had an old camcorder video of us investigating the derelict building.
You will have to excuse our youthful mucking around, but thought that the video might bring back some memories for anyone who knew the club or area.
And a thanks to Mark and Kirsten for all the laughs and good times :)

Did you ever get into the flats? I often wonder what the flats were like inside.

I used to be a bouncer in the club before it was called Basins, it's former name was, guess what, The Tricorn Club, had a lot of bands in those days, to name a few Screaming Lord Such, Mud, Sweet, Slade, Alice Cooper, Focus and lots more. I still maintain that that building was uglier than a barnacle.

Yeah it was but I loved it, Domino Records and Mr V’s, the Chinese Shop where you could buy ninja stars and nunchucks and of course Mr Clive where I got my first leather jacket and the market. Great community and a place to meet up. There was a club called Stairway to Heaven at the top 89/90 I think

Most interesting conversations by young people, shows how not to be remembered now! Thanks for look at brutalist design. As an oldie it still looks OK, but demolition was the best thing it was too big.

I remember it as Grannies night club. Saw King Kurt there in the early 80s.
