Essentially got lost in theses vids over the last hour. Lots of good memories: Service Merchandise, Toby's Toys, Metro Theater, Shoney's, Be-Bop, etc. I also had those same Young and Restless memories. Can't count the number of Nintendo hours I lost to Victor and Mrs. Chancelor being on the screen. Absolutely hated that show...for that very reason. Keep up the excellent work. Sad seeing what the city has become, but the good memories are still there.

I can remember when my parents and I would eat at Morrison’s. Their Trout Almondine was to DIE for!!! I remember my Dad dropping my Mom and me off in front of Morrison’s and he would have to park on the other end of the mall because of the traffic.

You drove right past the neighborhood I used to live in growing up: Shannon Dale Dr in Windsor Forest, right there at the 3-way intersection of Cooper and Forest Hill, and I am extremely familiar with every road you showed. Lots of fond memories from decades ago. It used to be so very nice back in the '70s and '80s. It's so sad to see what that entire area of South Jackson has become.

You are so right talking about how before they trimmed the bushes and stuff it did look like you were riding through a tunnel going to Sherwood forest lol. It definitely looks better but I see the roads are still bad

I worked at El Chico in the 80s! One of my 1st jobs, i bused tables and made like $80 bucks a week! Thought I was rolling in the money, and I got free Mexican food on break!😅 Friday and Sat nights were packed out! Those were great times of my youth!

The Yazoo clay subsoils make the roads require constant maintenance. Hundreds of houses have serious foundation problems. If maintenance is neglected, which unfortunately it is, roads deteriorate rapidly.

That place has been mired in controversy, scandals, and corruption for many years. Multiple transfers of ownership, and one excuse after another as to why all the claims of Metrocenter's glorious return hasn't happened yet... and most likely never will.
