The items you called stethoscopes are microscope. Based on them being black enameled brass, you can say they are pre-early 70s at the latest. But I would say likely earlier. The microscopes when you first walked in are from the late 50s-60s (I think I had some trouble finding info on the zeiss microscopes of that era and am more familiar with other brands and I couldn't be fucked spending time on it). Microscopes were (and still are to a large extent) held on to and upgraded. Their are limits in physics around how much you can optically magnify things. Most of the advancements were generally able to be modified onto older scopes due to consistent standards in the fittings and focal points. I use one from the late 40s that has a mount for a DLSR camera, and can handle phase contrast, and dark field. It doesn't perform like a modern one with things like blurring on the edges and degrading coatings, but it is still competitive for most modern equipment up to $1K on the second hand market. For this reason it would be rather insane for them to upgrade their microscopes aside from equipping the old ones with new parts. As a result they hold their value and much of their usefulness over time. This, and the fixtures dates the lab to the age of those scopes for initial use of the lab. It really pains me to see so many neglected scopes they could likely be restored and used once again. Based on the centrifuge that you said 'I believe this was used for mixing fluids' (actually used for separating fluids based on their molecular weights), I am again thinking late 70s at the latest. Based on the spectrophotometer at 2:26 with the brown tinted bottle on it. I am guessing that the lab operated into the late 70s (only if they were quite well funded and cutting edge, which I doubt given the older equipment they still had), or more likely the 80s. This is because when this equipment was commercially available. Some of the plastic items around it also could be as late as 90s. 2:32 there's a flash of a device with two serial connections which brings the last operation up to the early 80s for sure (assuming that wasn't just dumped in there after the fact). The phones at 3:38 suggest 80s. 3:14 round bottom flasks, not vials. 3:25 sealed ampoules not test tubes. Likely have rather volatile substances in them as you seal things that way to avoid O2 exposure.. so could be dangerous if broken without some kind of fume extraction, or possibly samples that need to be contamination free, etc. That looks like draws of testing/fixing/contrast reagents. That with the microscopes, centrifuges, spectrophotometer, makes me think pathology lab, or microbiology. Possibly also used as some kind of genetics lab at some stage. I am pretty damn sure pathology though. 5:03 not a vacuum chamber. It's an autoclave. Basically a pressure cooker for sterilising equipment. The the round bottom flasks and corks in the other room with the wrapping on them. They would have been sterilised in that autoclave. That's how equipment is generally left after going through the autoclave when it is ready to use again. The mortuary slabs and the slide makes me suspect forensics as well as pathology. I seriously doubt it would have been a research lab. They likely were teaching people there though. Likely worked with some university at some stage. FYI I would cut the bit with the stained glass and the bust mounted in the wall. That can very likely ID the location. 8:27 Network cabinet, printers, CRTs. Early to mid 90s for last use of the lab I think. You have revealed a lot more about the location than you think you have. Considering the market value of much of what I see assuming a proper restoration. As cool as this video has been I honestly think ethically you should take it down.

Where did you get the right to enter other people's property? And you call it "abandoned". Did you take anything? This practice has spread quite widely among KZbinrs, breaking and entering other people's property and even breaking into tombs, filming and disturbing the peace of the deceased. KZbin should delete those videos and the police should arrest the perpetrators.

@@johnsmith-sj7xk 1. When and where did we break in or speak about breaking in so don’t know where you’ve got your information from and I agree if you break in you deserve to be arrested as that’s something me and my group don’t condone. If there is away in then we will go in as at the end of the day it’s just trespass. 2. No I didn’t steal anything as I’m here to document the old buildings for what they are and what they were used for. I have in intentions to ransack the place for all its items. 3. The building has been abandoned by the old faculty as they build a new one and left this one to rot away as you can clearly see in the video nothing has been used in YEARS and no one has been in apart from other explores. Note: To me it just looks like you want it start a fight / argument with people because you have nothing better to do and I’m not playing into it I’ll do what I do for everyone and tell you the facts that we are here to document the past and the history of builds where and when we can to the best of our ability. If you don’t like that type of thing I completely understand you are more than welcome to not follow my content or even watch it as I make these videos for people that do enjoy this type of stuff. So theirs to their own.
