You boys are living in paradise - plenty of rails and a short lawn mowing season.

Given the rail service revivals in so many places these days there's hope that this facility will be redeveloped as a vibrant and active rail facility!

When my great grandmother lived in Marblehead up until the 1970s, the yard was pretty active. There was even a switcher stationed here for local deliveries and there were freight moves between Salem and Boston, Salem and Lowell, and Salem and Lawrence. During Guilford's ownership, the service declined substantially. For a while, there was a scrap and recycling company located where the yard was and they received bales of scrap and paper but it appears that's now gone. Sad.

Could use some help as to where this is. Maybe a map?

The former yard is located on the south side of the Salem tunnel. Looking north, the yard will be to the left.
