I beg to differ on the year the Red Lobster location at 3655 Orange Place, Beachwood was built. My family moved to Beachwood in 1969 and we lived there for 33 yrs. I was in college and worked at that Red Lobster location part-time in the mid 1970's. It was brand new at that time.

Wallie! I’ve been a follower for several years now, I absolutely love and look forward to your regular uploads! I’ve been struggling the past month or so, more of a mental health sort of thing, so your uploads are a little bit of happiness in my daily life. It’s fun to consider the past when these abandoned buildings had activity when business was booming!

You’re so right-many places now have no character. We don’t know what we’ve had till it’s gone, as the song says. I miss Kmart. It was comforting to me to go in a store that really hadn’t changed since I was a kid. And I’m with you. I am NOT a target fan. This red lobster looked like it was very nice-and big! Keep those videos coming.

Wally, if you ever get the chance, check out the Red Lobster Restaurant that is abandoned on East Dublin Granville Road (State Route 161) east of Karl Road on the northeast side of Columbus, Ohio. It has been closed at this location for a year or so. And it has an older Red Lobster restaurant from the 1970's era right next door to where this current Red Lobster restaurant is closed. Thats two abandoned Red Lobster restaurants right next to each other at the same location that are closed.

Not every day I see a Red Lobster close. I'll give them credit, their to-go is better now than a decade ago, at least at my location. I wish I could easily take a walk down my own form of memory lane sometimes. Many things I can say I regret not filming (or even, at least photographing) just for that reason.

There used to be a Red Lobster in North Dartmouth Massachusetts, a town neighboring New Bedford. They killed this location by bringing in their seafood from the outside when the biggest fishing port in the US was right there. Non-native seafood (King crab, for example) is one thing. But other kinds landed locally in large catches? New Bedford folks know their seafood, and by the time RL woke up, it was too late.

Those Red Lobster biscuits from the store taste nothing like the restaurant. Red lobster has good food. It’s better than Joe’s Crab Shack, however,I heard if you go to a seafood restaurant by the ocean it’s 100x times better.

Went to this red lobster as a kid with my parents. As others have said, i remember when people actually dressed up to go here. As time went on the clientele changed. People were getting robbed in the parking lot. The cops were there frequently for fights inside of the restaraunt and disorderly conduct. Its a shame because i do remember this when it was a flagship and very successful, but i would say for the last 20 years ir so it has struggled. You'd never guess being there during the day what it eould be like at night.

Both Bahama Breeze & Red Lobster are owned by Darden resteraunt group. I worked this red lobster for 1 nt in 97/98 because they were so understaffed we were called in from the Ashtabula Red Lobster. One of the craziest worst nights of my life as a server!!! I had at least 2 tabkes dine & dash - the tips were crap anyway. Drove over an hour & worked 4 or 5 hrs through hell just to lose money.
