She so deserves to be roadworthy and NOT in a demo derby ...And....even Pole Barn Garage has pulled out cars worse than this, lol - Let's see a series on this one!

Great that you got her running! Buicks have been a favorite of mine. Sounds mean! Their main pitfall of the Buick V8 is the oiling system. The culprit is the aluminum cast housing front cover the oil pump works from. The aluminum wears and with this, oil pressure lowers. The main and rod bearings are quite large on the Buick engines so they need lots of oil!

My 1980 Chevy Monza Spyder had the Buick 3.8 with the same issue. Putting in the metal plate helped but it was old and tired anyway. I was young and stupid and thought replacing concave lifters would help 😂

Just do a budget clean up make it a driver and put on seat covers and preserve it .

My 1970 Skylark knocked like that and it ended up being a cracked flywheel so I'd check that one to see if that's what it is also.
