Dry gas or isopropyl alcohol should take that sap off. It works with pine pitch but it does take some elbow grease. Use it along with a plastic razor blade. Gus has got to be one of the cutest puppies I’ve seen.

Hi Timo. I'm wondering which aspects of Chris' journeys stand out as signifying the differences in Freedom between USA and Germany. I'm not from USA although I do live in North America and, though I've never been to Europe, I don't think of Germany as a Country that's strict on personal freedoms. Is it really that different?

Loving the Torino content. My grandfather owned a 74 Grand Torino and my favorite show was Starsky and Hutch. So when me and him would hang out my favorite part was riding in the Torino. My grandfather was a giant of a man, specially for his generation. He would sit with the seat all the way back with his head leaning to either side because of his height and his knees along both sides of the column.
@rickloera94682 жыл бұрын
That must have been a tight fit for your grandfather. I have a 72 Gran Torino and I am only 5 ft 10 inches. With the seat all the way back I am still wanting for more room. His probably had a power seat which gives you a lot more leeway. My 77 Cougar which is basically the same car had a power seat and that really helped a lot. They are beautiful cars.

I owned and drove a red 1974 Ford Gran Torino my last year of high school and first few years of college...I LOVED THAT CAR. When I saw the title of your first half of this revival-drive-rescue, it caught my attention and that is how I discovered your channel. Both videos were VERY interesting, entertaining, fun and cool. Kudos to you, Jen, Gus and the car (shall we call her, Agnes?)...all four of you were a great team, great mix and an integral part of the whole two-part classic American automotive mini-movie you created. Your explanations of what you needed to replace, why and how you fixed all of the issues was great, what a teaching moment for younger people and older people who may not be very knowledgeable about cars and auto mechanics. I loved it, please do more like it featuring early American iron from the 1950's-1976 or so. Thanks for the great content! (Like many Americans, I have watched Derek's 'Vice Grip Garage' videos since the very beginning BECAUSE OF his revival-drive-it-home adventure videos.)

We used to typically wrap the fuel lines at the engine area with tin foil to solve vapor lock issues. It worked in the 60s. Great video for a trip with a 48 year old Ford. If you could've resolved the fuel delivery issues at the beginning, then your trip back home would've been almost trouble-free!

From what I understand it mostly starts down where the fuel pump is mounted at the Block and it starts boiling in the fuel pump. So going with it and electric pump seems to be the most popular upgrade

Also at the end of the video that rear side panel in the sun looks real good from where dalton did the little detail. That car would probably clean up really well.

For the fuel vapor lock problem, I've gone to a wrecking yard back in the day & found an old power steering cooler like the one already on your power steering pump & found a place under the car near the fuel line. Close to the fuel pump is best. Route the fuel thru it to cool the fuel. If you can mount it where air can hit it while being shielded from damage it will stop vapor lock, a common problem back in the day in Texas. Just showing my age here (I still know how to set points...).

I felt as though I was traveling with friends. Especially because I'm a former wrench turner myself, and a high school friend of mine had that same exact car. However his was black in and out. We camped out in it often. Usually near some fishing hole we found. Grabbed a 12 pack and a pack of hotdogs and a dozen donuts and between that and the trout we caught, poor man's surf and turf over a campfire was our breakfast, lunch and dinner, lol. We were good for two or three days. Unless we ran out of beer, but that was just a quick trip down the road to restock, lol. You guys rock, keep it up while your young. Cherish every moment. Hey bro, been watching your videos all day, my Mom had a 76 Ford elite, remember it like yesterday, was only 12, triple red, got compliments everywhere she went, she was so proud of that car, thanks for the memories!! ✌️

Great show Chris! Love the inclusion of your passengers it really keeps it flowing and enjoyable to watch, Jennifer and Gus are good sports. I appreciate both the work that went into keeping the car moving forward and the production of the show. Stay cool!
