I am happy to say that I visited Lincoln before the closure of Saint Mark's station, seventies or eighties, I can't remember exactly. It was great (as an enthusiast) to have two nice stations so close, but for efficiency and passenger convenience, centralising on Central was the right decision, (forgive the pun). Central is a fine example of Victorian railway architecture. It is also nice to see the Swindon DMU, they had some character compared with Derby or Metro-Cammell sets.
