Correction at 10:53 Ani was controlled by the Georgo-Armenian Dynasty known as the Zakarids not the Kingdom of Georgia. Apologies for the confusion!

Hey, I wanted to thank you for making videos on Armenia. I have always wondered why as Armenian history is often overlooked for more well known names and countries. But I also see a lot of other smaller countries and peoples represented on your channel. Either way, thank you very much for teaching and spreading the intriguing and fascinating histories that you do!

Thank you so much! It’s probably unfair for me to request two in a row, but if at all possible in the future please cover the Bulgarian city of Preslav. This city is of insane cultural significance as it is the cradle of Orthodox Slavia. I’m any case, this is the first time I’ve ever been recognized by a channel. I really appreciate the work you do man.

Could you do a video on the Dalmatians and Republic of Ragusa? As a native of Montenegrin Dalmatia (Bay of Kotor) I’d love to see such a fascinating extinct culture talked about

I’ve done quite a bit of research into this even before I started this channel and I love the topic and idea. Will definitely be added to the docket! I will let you know when it’s being released. Montenegro is a beautiful country, hope I can visit someday!

Wow what I’d give to see what it looked like in its prime. It must have been an absolutely gorgeous city. If even the few remaining ruins are that intricate, the entire city must have been incredible.

Likewise, such a shame that the city was not maintained

On the topic of abandoned Armenian cities, how about one about Edessa? I think it'd be interesting to track the city through various periods and rulers, seeing as how it was controlled by the Romans, Persians, Arabs, Armenians, Byzantines, and Crusaders at different points throughout its history before getting destroyed by Nur al-Din in the 1140s.

Awesome! When I was a teenager looking up interesting stuff online I came across pictures of Armenian ruins like at Ani and thought it was so cool, I was really into the middle ages and architecture then. Thanks for making a video about something relatively obscure

God bless Armenia 🇦🇲 the first Christian Nation the land of Prophet Noah Gbhs. The oldest Churches in the world can be found there. Today the sub turks are terrorizing it and stealing its lands but no one is speaking up against this loss of ancient Christian History. A shame‼️

Too many people forget about Armenia, despite all the tragedy and hardship the country has faced. My heart goes out to the Armenian people and nation and I hope that they see success in the future! 🙏

@@abandonedhistoryUS What a load of ignorant racist BS. The Ottoman rulers referred to Armenians as millet-i sadıka i.e the loyal nation. Look it up. Do your research on the Ottoman Empire's Armenian Christian pashas/generals (such as Agop Kazakyan and Ohannes Sakiz Pasha) ministers, burecrats, consuls, diplomats, deputy councellors, royal architects (such as the famous Balyan family), royal physicians, academics, authors, interpreters, musicians, composers of Ottoman classical music and very rich, influential Armenian businessmen in the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans were the ones that invited and encouraged Armenians to migrate to Constantinople, Prusa (Bursa), Trebizond (Trabzon), Batumi, Smyrna (Izmir), Ancyra (Ankara), Attaleia (Antalya), Thessaloniki (Selanik), Plovdiv (Filibe), Varna for the first time in history and to establish Armenian neighbourhoods, churches, schools in those cities and allowed them to freely practice their religion and use Armenian language. If Turks had "never liked Armenians", they would've already had annihilated or assimilated all of them before 1915.
