You always manage to find something beautiful in even the most damaged buildings. My husband was a retired Boilermaker. Over 40 years in the steel mills. I know many are anti-union these days, but that pension they fought for is my lively hood now! Travel Safe and Be Well

This destruction of some of Birmingham’s most iconic Victorian architecture began in the late 50s, and the headlong modernisation plan by the Council led by alderman Frank Price and the city’s chief planner Herbert Manzoni, to quite rightly replace the existing poor housing stock, but who also mistakenly decided to rebuild the city centre by replacing some of its finest buildings with millions of tons of brutalist concrete instead , most of which I’m glad to see, has and still is, finally being replaced itself! Please continue with recording and preserving some evidence of these buildings having existed in the past, and the utter disregard some ‘developers’ have for our heritage! Well done, and thank you!

Agree we live in an age of greed, the beautiful towns and cities. The Victorians gifted us with Blood, Sweat & Tears have mostly been ill treated. The railway infrastructure is one particular case in particular x I just wanna say thank you for watching the videos and sharing your thoughts

Was once the Rose and Crown public house prior to offices hence the ornate tiling. I believe it will restored and form part of a housing complex.

Thank you Peter such a shame it’s been allowed to decay so badly the hole in the roof is quite suspect to me and a lot of the beautiful glazed tiles have been hacked of and sold no doubt, nice to hear from you best wishes

@@XhristinaMacey thanks, I've been aware of it for a long time and always admired the Architecture and scale of it, think of what it must have been like as a pub, amazing.

Once the water gets in, it's game over! This old building had some incredible tile and woodwork. Some of the interior bracing would suggest, maybe they are going to save it?? It's pretty far gone, any word on it's future?? If they tear it down, at least you got great footage of the inside.

Hopefully it’s been restored by now. I always used to park next to it in the 80’s and 90’s. Iconic Victorian structure just behind Bristol street and near the gay quarter. Greetings from Somerset 😊

They are just waiting for it to collapse under its own weight or burns down in a mysterious fire so that they can legally tear it down and develop the land for profit. Bro! I'm in Birmingham too, want to do some exploring together?
