That awkward moment when a lot of people are commenting how it all belongs to Pepsi, but really it belongs to the building owners. Why? Because the old owners bought the machine, the soda, and the services to restock. You all think Pepsi has the time to go to every machine every night to empty out the cash? The owners who bought the machine do that and since the old owners didnt do that when they sold the building to these guys, these guys got the machine and the money. The only thing Pepsi owns is the copyright brand and the right to restock if the new owners buy their restock services. It's like all of you for some fucked up reason think buying a Samsung refrigerator and putting food inside of it, now apparently belongs to Samsung themselves...

You are right the machine does not belong to Pepsi it belongs to Algonquin leasing inc as stated on the asset tag at the top. I guess if that is the company who owns the building then its theirs but if thats the vending company who fills the machine then this is stealing. Should probably have checked that before you drilled the lock out.

Hard to say who actually owns it i know when we sell machines at the company i work for we remove all of our tags and markings. Like i said that could be the buildings asset tag no way of knowing. Would have been nice of them to find out for sure who owns it before drilling into it.

A tip for drilling those hardened locks for next time. Bring a propane torch and heat that hardened lock up. It'll soften it and make it easier to drill through.

It's obvious how little metal working experience is being portrayed in these replies. Center drilling bits.... the locking mechanism has no center to drill, duh! Sharpen the bits..... you've obviously never tried drilling through hardened lock or tool steel before with simple tooling. Why work harder, when you can work smarter by changing the molecular structure of the steel and soften it? Then again what do I know about metal, I've only been working with it for 2 decades.

I don’t understand why it wasn’t emptied considering the Mountain Dew was expired in 2017 and the Pepsi had well over a year difference which means someone restocked it and left expired soda but didn’t empty it 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

It was only about 5 or 6 months difference, but the restockers usually don't take old sodas out of the the machines, they just add new ones.

In not really proud but when I was really young i would hit all the payphones in my area and fill the change slot with paper towel. Then in a week I would go and use a piece of coat hanger to fish out the paper towel and all the change would drop out. It was never a whole lot but it made me smile. Being young and dumb :) I only did it a few times though

I bought the EXACT same Pepsi vending machine from my old boss for $200. Turned around & used it for about 2 years. Made our $ back. Then sold it for $450 to a fire department in South FL. FYI.... that machine was originally owned by Pepsi... it's an older Dixie-Narco that is now probably 20+ years old and Pepsi has long since deserted it. When a machine gets that old is it less expensive for the company to leave it behind then it is to send guys out to replace it.

Logan Puppie uh yeah they kinda do. Vending machines don't accept crumpled bills. Also, most ones are from getting change, and almost universally, the money from tills comes directly from the bank, so you're getting unfolded bills anyway. Regardless of where they came from tho, they've been in there for long enough to have straightened out quite considerably.

The machine probably belongs to a distributor since it has a placard on it. They don't usually let people just buy those machines. You can keep the money but you may have issues getting it serviced or filled unless the buyer does it themselves and does not mind having stolen equipment.

couple sujestions, use colbalt bits, and do not turn fast low rpm with rapid tap cutting oil, and or good square style easy outs with utting oil. some milling tools are best
