I think you have put the videos in the wrong order mate, you latest video uploaded 4 hours ago ended up with you saying "in the next episode, we are going into the hospital basement"....but that is this video, uploaded before that one lol

I worked in the nuclear industry for several years, dealing with radiation testing daily and you wouldn't get me down there ever ! 😊 Btw, its a radiation meter, not a Geiger counter. Thats a specific brand, like hoover or dyson and hand held meters like yours have different features to an actual geiger counter.
@WestcoastAudiGuy9 күн бұрын
Geiger counter isn't the "brand" it's the method of detection - Geiger principle / geiger-muller tube.

....studied Chernobyl on and off for years. Highlight of my life; touring Pripyat and Chernobyl May 2015... the entire region is beautiful...had to really be beautiful prior to the incident in 1986. Reactor #4 only operated for about 12 years before contaminating the region for eternity...

How could he walk around in there without covering his hands?🤔
@Wolf-656718 күн бұрын
Your protective gear is woefully inadequate. You have disturbed the dust particles and you probably have inhaled them to a high dose. Then you failed through lack of knowledge and training to decontaminate. I would seriously get proper medical checks, not only was your gear shit, no gloves etc, but the amount to time in the environment. I wish you well. Maybe wasn't the best choice.

Breathing radioactive dust isn't that big of a deal
@RurouniHeero14 күн бұрын
Protective gear? At least they had some, the guide only had a mask and didn't have anything else. Particles must have contaminated his clothes. Personally I would have at least put my Terra-P dosimeter in a plastic bag to protect it, good luck decontaminating that thing.
@ettorevillani12 күн бұрын
@@RurouniHeero Probably the guide already knows what his fate is.
@RurouniHeero11 күн бұрын
@@ettorevillani Or he simply don't care. Cause if you use proper equipment, I have to say that nothing would happen from that exposure. The thing is, I work in a medical facility transporting radioisotopes and those levels in that basement coming from the contaminated clothes, even though they're high, they're not high enough to do tissue damage unless they enter the body.
@l0vebvq36817 күн бұрын
Your gear does NOT seem good enough for the task, please get some medical checks soon!!

When I was in high school (25yrs ago) we had a class called outdoor education where we learned things like orienteering, canoeing, archery and shooting air rifles. One kid decided yeah, even after the teacher made it clear to never aim at a person, he would aim his unloaded gun at the teacher and got kicked out of the class. I think that was the same year as the Columbine shooting so ours was the last year they taught gun usage. Now they teach everyone what to do when there’s idiots waiving guns around. Good footage, but safety does seem a little lax.

You couldn’t pay me enough to go there since I see this on TV documentary. I know how radioactive that place is. You really shouldn’t have gone there. You might of wanted to go. But I see how radioactive it was.

Your right that's scary it's most likely out irradiating some poor family that has no idea how dangerous it is. Or some radiation nut has it in their collection.

Was it 2000 mSV instead 2000 µSv near of those boots?
@littlesparklerofficial17 күн бұрын
2000 mSv? Never. They will suffer from ARS.
@RurouniHeero14 күн бұрын
2000 µSv so 2 mSV, still quite high but localized there, so unless you take the boot in your hand and hold it for an hour or two, taking pictures or videos for 10-15 minutes in the basement is rather safe, with proper equipment... That guide was reckless, never seen one like that. Even Stalkers know better.

@olymp-c8l17 күн бұрын
It does not have to. The radiation at this level is insignificant for such a short period of time. But what it does is help against getting contaminated with radioactive dust and particles.
@geordieurbex220017 күн бұрын
@olymp-c8l that would be OK if you were walking around most of the buildings in the town, after the big clean up operation, but the basement of the hospital was never cleaned up

Fire doesn't destroy radio nucleotides, all it would have done is to make them airborne contaminating everything around them as they went.

Your protective gear would protect you from small doses of Alpha radiation but not Gamma, you need lead or another dense material to protect you from that, you've exposed yourself to very high levels of radiation for the sake of a youtube video
@Eireman_on_Twitch11 күн бұрын
The risk is not in short exposure, but having radioactive materials in dust inhaled. Once inside, nearby tissue would be subject to CONSTANT decay products, alpha, beta, and gamma, and that is the risk. The suits won’t block alpha particles nearly as well as the water content of the dermis (living skin cells); the purpose of the suits is simply to prevent bringing decaying materials out inside the body. Short term exposure of 15-20 minutes, even at 100 milli-sieverts per hour, should only affect skin cells, which fortunately have a short life in terms of human physiology.
