This is university level if your good. I’ve heard more challenging pieces played for rehearsals and juries at a public university. Not sure if I agree for the need of tenor clef for this, at least not so much of it. It makes it look more intimidating than it is. It might keep a lot of players away.

Hi there is there a treble clef version of this?
@Pretzel35675 жыл бұрын
@@steveparker9044 tenor clef is actually functionally the same as treble clef just with slightly different accidentals. The top line on tenor clef is a concert Eb same as treble clef which is a F or conert Eb for Bb instruments. You just have to watch want the accidentals are, so if you pretend its treble clef, what looks like an Fb is actually F nat and F nat is F#, Same applies for what looks like a C, concert Bb. It looks like Cb when it actually means concert Bb. So if you pretend its treble clef and transpose the key and watch C's and F's you should be ok, then just learn bass clef for the bass clef parts since its important to be able to read both clefs

bruh if this were transposed to bass cleff it'd be extremely high

Pretty breathtaking how the euphonium blends into the rest of the ensemble at points. The drop aways of the ensemble which showcase the soloist at particularly technical parts are done just right. It'd be great if this piece becomes part of standard literature. It's a fantastic modern approach to the instrument, and to the ensemble that accompanies it in general. Composers are learning how fantastic the euphonium sounds, and epic pieces like this are coming into being. It's long overdue, and a great time to be alive to hear them.

I thought Steven Mead was the best Euphonium player I ever heard. I have changed my mind. I don't think I have ever heard anyone play the Euphonium this high with such beautiful tone and timbre. Great job Demondrae Thurman. You make that Miraphone 5050 sing!
@ludovicozambonin76636 жыл бұрын
Steven's the greatest all-around player. He's very good in everything, but somebody's better in high or low notes, or who has a better tone in some notes. I still think Steven's the best Euphonist in the world because of his versatility. This is what I think. Maybe you disagree or maybe not. Anyway, Demondrae is an incredible Euphonium (and trombone) player and I really like this performance. Great!

I think we should all refrain from “assessing” and go back to listening to what we admire and expect from music as we here it. “Contests” don’t make musicians, and I think most of the good ones will tell you that.

This is amazing. As a concerto, it meanders purposefully, recalling Vaughan Williams. There are filmic passages with strong, declarative themes supported by lively, almost restless orchestration.
