Recently had to change the cams & carrier on my brothers 230,000 mile 2012 Abarth due to the cam bearings starting to go. I really recommend you change the oil every 8-10k, rather than the recommended 18k. Luckily I`m breaking a 110k 2009 Mito 155 T-Jet Veloce, so I just swapped them. Theres zero rust on it, even at the front of the sills that have been stonechipped back to the galvanised steel for years..

Uk roads make the underside of any car look like Mother Shiptons cave but for a ten year old car its in fantastic nick. Thanks for the vid Nelly.

Great condition Abarth there ,I had 2 Competizione`s one in White one in Yellow both were fantastic no issues very reliable fun pocket rockets , they reminded me of the fun i had in the 90s in My Mk1 Fiat Uno 1.3 turbo and Mk2 1.4 turbo they do build small fun cars :)

Brought back memories of the old Strada 130TC from the 80s would love it if Neil could work his magic on one of those 👍👍

Definitely worthy of more cover and worthy to carry the Abarth name.

For the money and fun the Abarth can’t be beaten , when we moved to the states it was the only thing I owned I was upset about selling ! The Brera I couldn’t wait to get rid of it lol .

Interesting look at a U.K. FIAT underside vs. my U.S. 500. I picked up a 124k mi., '12, Sport, that came from Denver, Co.(car dealer auction) & sat on a S.D. used car lot unlovingly for 7 months last year. I looked under it one Sunday and was quite impressed & surprised how good it all looked underneath, much nicer than this, no flaking paint, everything still nice & black. I bought it about a month later & it's treated me well although I think it helps to be mechanically inclined with this car, as simple as it is though. I notice the Abarth here doesn't have the bottom engine shield. I took mine off, even though it had been there after all this time. My opinion about the shield is it's there for aerodynamics, meaning, gas mileage. Especially at higher speeds. And, obviously, it provides some physical protection. And, I could see some advantages living in a cold (cold) climate, the engine warms quicker. I'll take the fuel penalty though, for increased air flow around the oil pan.

Thanks for this one Neil ,love these little cars , this has been really helpful to know what to look out for as I'm quite keen on an Abarth and have been looking for one lately .

Love these weekly looks at different cars. Definitely a car I’d like to own at some point. Best of luck with the GTA, worth 13k of any Alfisti’s money surely. Few quid towards the new Abarth 😉

Great to see more Abarth content 🙂👍maintenence how to's were very informative, can believe the price of those discs lol 😳 Yeah I agree the early 1s are better looking, I have a series 1 2011 car, nice to see this one holding up well overall , the usual rear beam rust but it's generally looked after and are they are reasonable to maintain, I have applied direct to metal Paint to my cars undersides, hence no mot advisories so it's worth doing and coving that unsightly rust I agree they are very underrated, people haven't heard of the Abarth marque and don't know what it is when I got mine you hardly saw them but now I see them everywhere so the words getting round about how good they really are ,fantastic driving experience and that unique Abarth burble, I've never had so much fun, any excuse to get behind the scorpion badge, I've always said life's too short not to have an Abarth in ! Hope you find the one your looking for, maybe Do a video when you do 🚗 👍🙂

I think the oldest the car can be is 2016 because of the facelift dash and infotainment system. Or am I wrong?

thats an aftermarked stereo surround to convert the prefacelift to double din
@whizzo942 жыл бұрын
@@stewartdcampbell Yes, you're right, it hasn't got the facelift bump where the infotainment unit is, so it must be 2015 or earlier.

Nice car but I think the underside is already quite rusty for a 10 year old. I'd advise some preventive measures.

that actually pretty good for a uk car.
