Abarth 695 Rivale Review - the best little fast car in the world? | Music Motors

The Abarth 695 Rivale is a very special car, with only 350 limited edition variants in the entire world - Abarth made 175 of them in hard top and 175 in cabriolet. This is a later 695 Rivale which is slightly less rare (standard production, not limited numbers), but equally rare on the roads. Powered by the typical Abarth 1.4 engine, the 695 Rivale pushes out 180bhp through the front wheels and creates enough power per tonne to keep up with the likes of the Ford Fiesta ST and beyond. Not to mention the HiFi by Beats - which is among the best standard/upgrade audio you can get. Is the Abarth 695 Rivale worth the extra cost? Should you get a 595 or early 500 instead? Web site says the Rivale is still for sale until stocks last, although not Ltd Ed, but better wheels and seats I think. Anyway just ordered one - can’t wait for ‘69’ !

The first edition 695 were the limited edition, there are still plenty of the current edition - a brilliant car with an epic sound.

Depends what you want, the 695 is a special edition and a 595 Competizione has the same power.. just entirely depends what you want. :)

Such a raucous noise for a small car. Is it easy to get used to the gearstick In that position and does the car feel quote light?

The car feels nimble and capable, the gearstick feels second nature once you’re aware of it - as is the seating position. Such good noise!

You have the numbers wrong, the plaque even gives you a clue. There is 1750 of each model cab and hatch. They did an anniversary Rivale first which is basically the same and that only had 175 of each.

While they use some components, they're totally different in almost any other way. Not only the drive, but even aesthetically they are significantly different.
