Analog current Input signal (4-20mA) of ACS355 Drive is from OMEGA CN735 Temperature Controller and is connected to Pin5 (AI2) and Pin6(GND or COM) in order to control a FAN. I tried all Macros applications and none of them is working. I mean none of them can really received this signal from OMEGA controller even though I disconnected this signal from OMEGA CN735 and FAN is still running remotely. My question is that how can I control the fan by really running this Analog Current Signal rather than using Macros. What is the correct hardware wiring connection? Thanks.

Hi I have installed an ACS355 with advanced control pad. It is aimed the drive runs a 5.5KW pump through the solar panels. Currently for testing purposes, I have connected a 504V, 10KW DC power supply as the input. The drive in Local mode works as it should be but in Remote mode, the operation frequency never exceeded then 40Hz (The pump should work with 50Hz). The relevant set points are all set on 50Hz. I have searched a lot and have contacted to ABB as well but no one could help me. Just wondering if I can get my answer here..

The list of changed parameters which can be found using the “CHANGED PAR” function in the keypad. What is connected to the I/O terminal strip of the drive for remote operation.

Thank you for the video. I installed a 5.5KW ACS355 solar drive. I received the drive with basic control panel. I put all parameters and limits. I used Scalar frequency control. My problem is that the drive is not regulating the frequency output based on the sun irradiation, but it just follows the value which I set on "Ref" on the basic control panel. I am using the drive in local control mod and without external I/O signals. Please any help to make the drive work automatically? or How can I remove this "ref" control in order for the drive to seek the operating frequency by itself?

Rami H Try setting parameter 1103, REF1 SELECT to SOLAR. The manual defines SOLAR as“The inverter takes the speed reference calculation from MPPT.” MPPT is maximum power point tracking, which is an algorithm that controls the inverter to obtain maximum power from the PV cells at any instant.

I will need a little more information than what you have provided. What exactly are you trying to do and what kind of difficulties are you coming across? Do you have the appropriate software and connections?

ziko moon The step function is set on the pull down menu on top with drive--->step function-->step function settings. As for ramp function, the accel/decel rate are in parameter 22. You can change any values by double clicking the number and typing it in. Delay time is also a little ambiguous since there are a lot of different parameters that use the term 'delay time'. For example, parameter 2113 is for a start delay, parameter group 14 allows for delay time on relay outputs and 3103 is for setting the delay time after a fault. I hope this puts you in the right direction.

Go to parameter, set 1103 = 0 and will select keypad/control panel for speed command. For the start/stop in remote, set with your Macro selection. If ABB Standard is selected (default macro) then all you have to change is 1103 for your speed command. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks, it works I am using frec control but i want to use speed control and i can not disengage the motor from the machine to make ID test, what can i do?. Finally sometimes the converter shows shorts circuit fail and reset until some time and pushing éxit button, could it be interference ? the drive is new. I apreciate your help.

Well if you can't uncouple the motor from the machine don't run "ID run". If you need to run the motor at low speeds you will need ID run, but if you don't need operation below say 50% speed, just put it in "Vector Speed and see how it performs. Otherwise, guess what,,,, you have to uncouple the motor! This allows the drive to get a good picture of motor the characteristics to control it properly in Vector mode. If uncoupling is absolutely not possible, you may be better off leaving in Scalar FREQ mode. But try speed first, some applications are more forgiving than others, ok?

As far as the short circuit fault goes, first double check all your power connections to the drive and the motor make sure they are tight. Could also be the mode you are running in without proper tuning too.
