When ABBA won Eurovision in 1974 I was working in Germany as a volunteer in Bremer Landesbank. The year before I came from my homeland Denmark and always been a great ESC fan as long as I remember.. I did not earn much, had no TV…. What to do ? Luckily some of my colleagues invited me to watch the Eurovision at their home. There we were perhaps 8 or 10 people staring at a very small black and white TV. Best memories of an Eurovision ever ❤

In WW2 in Germany > Every Young Male German ( Not of Jewish Blood.) was made to enlist in Military & in schools they trained then at very young ages to be ready for this military service. They encouraged & rather forced them tk get married & rewarded them for it & having more kids gave them more 💰 & privileges. Anyone talking bad about this process or not liking being forced to do it was imprisoned or punished badly, some way. The average German citizen was afraid all the time. Therefore, A NAZI was not every German citizen or soldier. As a nurse I cared for a A old former German Soldier & he told me his personal story in tears. He had it typed up to become a book & asked me to read it to him. He would stop me throughout reading it & explain things not in the story. ❤❤❤

Still waiting for the ultimate ABBA documentary. And this one isn't it. To do the band justice, you'd need to make it 10 parts (similar to the Beatles' Anthology) where each episode focuses on a different year in the band's career. And the sooner we get to see this, the better, because ABBA won't be around forever...

In 1974, when I was eight years old, I pressed the REC button in front of my parents' TV. I've told everyone to be quiet during Waterloo, but in the middle of the song, my little brother shouted "Hon trampa på sladden" (in english "She stept on the microphone cable"). It's kind of funny that I still remembers this event and the cassette tape is now lost.

This is a nice refreshing video, with some new or not so seen video clips and pictures, and different interviews from some different people from the ones we are used to hearing from. Like John Tobler. Interesting. However I think there are some inaccuracies at some moment. I assume the angle that everything is seen from is the British charts, when they speak about hits, and Money Money Money was not a number one, contrary to what is said here. Not in the UK, where it reached number 3. And Agnetha and Bjorn did not get divorced at the end of 1978, as far as has always been said so far. It was in 1980. But still a very nice documentary which is still interesting for die-hard fans who thought they had seen all there is to see of ABBA. And lovely high-resolution pictures included too. Very appreciated. Thanks!!🎉😊

The doc slips here and there for accuracy, repeated images, uneven sound editing - and the needless Nazi footage, come ON -, but in all gives a sense of what this group has managed to do in 50 years, while being there making us drool for the next single and when not, during the decades of nostalgy prior to the Voyage unbelievable comeback. They've never left us, and here are some reasons why. Basically, it's good music for the good timed from nice people.

In 1974 Not too many people were attracted much by music from 1924 so times have changed big time and the sixties to maybe 80‘s will be seen as the peak time of modern music in the upcoming decades maybe even centuries. Todays music unfortunately will not have this long lasting effect.. it already stopped in the nineties. Here and there are exceptions but overall it’s going strongly downhill in the sense of originality and impact. It’s all a bit instant.. today great forgotten tomorrow…

Abba are amazing, of course and I loved clips of them. Paul Gambaccini is wonderful. Tobler and his onerous nazi comments was terrible. A number of inaccuracies including mistaking Bjorn for Benny and saying Money,Money,Money was number 1 (in UK) when it wasn't - it was "Knowing Me, Knowing you". Money, Money, Money was no.3. While seeing previously unavailable footage was great for me as a fan I can see this has not been passed by Abba and Tobler's comments and the Nazi footage are unforgiveable.

I think the worse mistake Bjorn make is to divorce Agnetha. She is so beautiful, talented, and vibrant, every man dream of her. How can he simply let her go? " An intimate look into their post-ABBA era, navigating solo careers and the resurgence brought by the ABBA Gold era", well it really doesn't live up to its statement. The First 39 minutes basically tells a rough story of the groups formation and successes, rounding up the ABBA years it skips to Chess, Mamma Mia, and Voyage. Between 1982 and 2021 the ABBA members actually did a hell of a lot more in their solo careers. Disappointing.

So-so overview of Abba's career. Some songs appear in wrong order ('One of us' & 'Under attack' before 'Winner takes it all'). Also, not mentioned is fact that the follow-up singles to 'Waterloo' failed to chart & it looked like they might be another European one-hit wonder act (like Los Bravos, Shocking Blue, etc.) before 'Mamma Mia' became their breakthrough hit. One other thing: narrator states none of their records got to no.1 in America, but 'Dancing Queen' did.
