Yeah, that's one of those noble efforts that doesn't quite pan out, like Colin Jost trying to beat Michael Che in the joke swaps. He came close this year, but the addition of the elderly civil rights activist and the "Black Widow" joke pretty much means that Che is undefeated.

​@@jasobres I think it means that they were supposed to sing to a prerecorded vocal-less track, but they only had the track with the vocals. But apparently Abba fairly rarely sang au natural, their performances on TV were almost always lipsyncs. I guess the classy thing would have been not to call attention to it, but Lorne hates lipsyncing. Plus, I think Disco was not in line with the kind of cool show he wanted SNL to be, which may be why he also had Loudon Wainwright III on the episode as an extra musical guest.
