Although released after Does Your Mother Know (in 1994) it was recorded before. It also contains elements of Kisses Of Fire. Benny and Björn kept Dreamworld unreleased and went on to write those two using elements of this one.

This song was an early recording in the Voulez Vous sessions and for a while the idea floated around that “Dreamworld” would be the actual title of their next album. In the end the band made a conscious decision to lean more towards a European/International sound and Dreamworld simply did not fit within that realm. They lifted the post-chorus melody and used it in Does Your Mother Know. The overall calliope theme and sound was also later used as the inspiration for Elaine. It may also be of interest to note that “Just a Notion” was recorded around the same time and also ended up being scrapped. 40 years later the boys would scratch their heads and wonder why it was discarded. The answer to me always seemed obvious. Just a Notion has a great Beach Boys/California sound to it and they had just recently explored that genre with several songs on The Album. Not wanted to dwell in one theme for too long the boys were moving onward and upward and we’re finding inspiration in the Arabesque themes that inspired Voulez Vous and the slinky disco gloss that exemplified Europe at the time.
