As much as I love and respect Agnetha's immense talent, it was Frida's voice that made me buy my first ABBA album: her vocals on Knowing Me, Knowing You sounded so good on the radio, I had to find out who was singing that. She also had the best post-ABBA single with I Know There's Something Going On. I wish the two women had more songs like that to sing, although I love ABBA's songs as well. Just when they were getting a little bit more experimental with songs like The Visitors, they broke up. Would have been great to hear the two ladies singing on One Night in Bangkok. For 50 years, this incredibly talented and beautiful woman has inspired me with her amazing compassion, gratitude, and generosity. Frida is easily my favourite ABBA member and in my top three favourite singers of all time, with Madonna and… well, maybe Frida is top two. Lol what’s not to love? She’s a survivor, an activist, someone who triumphed over great adversity all her life, and despite all her pain and success, has the kindest soul and is humble, wise and charming… even still a little sassy. Then there’s the voice! What else can be said about it that hasn’t already been said? She has power, projection, range, pitch, clarity, warmth… she can bring you to tears, seduce you, even give you a hug, vocally. Her stage presence is confident, engaging, playful, sexy, and boy, she’s got the moves! She also happens to be incredibly beautiful, but that’s the least of her charms. I will always thank her for ‘letting the music speak’ through her incredible voice. What a gift for her to share with us all. Frida, we love you so much and wish you a very very happy birthday! ❤

Frida was the most successful solo artist of the four and with good reason. I always thought she had the strongest voice and of course, stunningly beautiful. After hearing and seeing her with the "Voyage" project, nothing has changed.

I was so surprised when I was watching the American TV series "Scream Queens", and suddenly, Frida's song "I Know There's Something Going On" kicked off. Never expected *that* ! Also, someone once mentioned how succesful her debut album "Frida" from 1971 *could have been* in the States, considering the immaculate Jazz vibes, and how she could have been that mysterious bright new Jazz star from far away.

It my opinion that Stig was not willing to put massive money into promoting neither Frida or Agnetha solo work. He knew if either had massive success they would not work with ABBA again. Polar Music did not make anything near the money from these solo albums because different song writers & producers. Stig was only interested in ABBA albums.

Would there be any chance due to the 40 year celebration of Shine we could also have a deluxe edition like the Abba albums with the extra tracks that have come to light... I used to think following Abba through the 70's Agnetha got the most attention with her looks but they are both beautiful & i always had a soft spot for Frida .. Thank you so much for this wonderful narration about Frida. Since my childhood in the 70s, she's been on my radar and in my heart. I couldn't take my eyes from her, I loved her voice, I was fascinated by her life history, her approach to life and to being an artist. I knew Frida through ABBA, but on a summer vacation in Denmark, I bought Ensam in a record store in a coastal town, and it became equally as important as any ABBA record, and Frida releasing Something's Going On was another milepole in my life. However, I am so happy that you focus on Shine in your narration. Listening to it now, including all the unreleased material, it is obvious that Frida was on a creative, artistic and vocal peak in the mid 80s, and it is almost heartbreaking to think what she could have done as an artist if she hadn't put her career on hold at that time. But then again, it's Frida: Her life seems to take many turns, ups and downs, and you never know what's going to happen next. She's such an inspiration, and she's been that for so many years now. I can't imagine how my life would have been without her. Congratulations, tillykke, grattis, Frida! Du er fantastisk!

Ive always been a Frida fan, ever since my very first Album in 1975 - The Best of ABBA. I absolutely love Agnetha's voice too, but there's something so soothing about the velvety richness of her tone. What I adore about the combination of both their voices is when Agnetha sings high, it's like it gets in my head almost like it's stimulating my pineal gland. When Frida sings low, the rich sound lands on my heart and takes my breath away. Its no wonder then that when the two sing together, it's a combination of head and heart. The lyrics where you have Agnetha's high and ending in Frida's low are magical musical moments indeed. Then, when they meet in the middle, it's again magical but almost like sound therapy. For me, Eagle is where this magic is never more pronounced. My favourite Frida-led song is Andante Andante, but even then, the magic of Agnetha coming in with "make me sing" is truly exceptional. Likewise, on The Day Before You Came, and I Can Be That Woman are thoroughly rounded out by Frida's sublime backing vocals. I can not put it properly into words how much i adore both these women, both together and separately. But for me, I resonate just that bit more to the sublime sound of our Princess

In my opinion, Frida was the strongest force in ABBA's recent reunion. After Agnetha agreed with Frida to surprise Bjorn and Benny with "Old Friends", they finally reunited. Then, as Agnetha came out with "A", and sang live with Barlow, Frida recharged her friendship. When the boys came up with the idea of Voyage, Benny asked Frida if she was up for singing. Frida then contacted Agnetha, and the reunion was on. If you look at the avatars for "I Still Have Faith", the process is portrayed. Frida hugs Agnetha, then sings to Bennny, then Bjorn. And since "Voyage", Frida has visited the arena more than the others have. She seems the most hopeful that they record again.

I'm not religious but if I was, I'd think she was sent to make this world a happier place. Being virtually orphaned at such a young age, no brothers or sisters and away from any relations. Yep indeed Frida has been my fave from the start. Why? Good question... i love her voice slightly better or maybe the songs she sang lead on... I Wonder, Knowing Me Knowing You, Gonna Sing You My Lovesong she could even give the simple Me And Bobby are depth and warmth, I think her appearance, her versatile vocals are more interesting and she as a character seems to be more complex and mysterious. And the facts known about her private background are deeply touching, almost a bit disturbung and hard to live by. She experienced more premature loss and grief for one lifetime and still managees to keep going. It takes a lot of strength. For me she seens to be an archetype scorpio but she's fire and water.... and it shows.. (I grew up in a witchhouse, with my mom doing astrology almost professionally and my greatgandmother laying the cards and reading handlines.... ) I wish her inner peace and joy in life. Health and a fullfilling relationship. All you need at 79.

I love Frida becuase she is imperfect. People look at her and see all these bad things. Her father being a German soldier. Her teenage marriage. Her struggles with motherhood and her pursuit of her career at its (sometimes) expense. All of that? To me it makes her her human. I don't need perfection as a role model. How can identify with someone who is perfect? Frida has taught me that a woman should not have to be flawless to be loved.

Frida can’t be blamed for her own birth nor who her parents were. And she shouldn’t be criticized for marrying young… maybe people did at that time and if she was in love and felt it could bring her happiness, stability and security after so much uncertainty and pain in her early life, why not? As for her being a young mother and wanting to pursue her career, she was only doing what any man would have done back then and even now. Why is it only women we criticize for trying to balance a career and parenthood, and not always finding the right balance? When you consider all the challenges she faced as a child, and then as an adult, being shocked her father was actually alive and then the painful divorce with Benny, then losing Russo and her daughter. This poor woman has gone through so much, and yet look at all her success despite it all. Shes a survivor, and she still can have a joy for life and be playful, even sassy… after everything she’s been through? She’s an incredible role model for us all to push through any challenges we face and carry on. I admire her tremendously.
