This is a dream come true for this ABBA fan from NYC, who's always ALWAYS longed to take a plane to Sweden and just look for ABBA locations. Thank you so much for this. I can't believe Polar closed, so I looked it up. Apparently, it was simply a matter of a leasing negotiation. I think in instances like that, the buildings should put up memorial plaques, just so people know the historical nature of where they are I also hope you find the area where they are sitting on the bench on the ABBA Greatest Hits cover. I've always loved the cover and believed it showed ABBA's playful side. But where in Sweden is that bench!

Oh, you'll find ABBA locations on almost every corner. Take that plane one day, try to make it happen! Until then, I'm happy you enjoyed this video so much. Thanks for your comment! The park bench is in Djurgården, but it's not the same bench any longer.

What a busy bumblebee you have been, haha, as always! 👍 Stockholm is very beautiful, even in the built up areas and the waterways seem so clean. Aussie tv presenter Molly Meldrum was featured in a filmed interview at a Stockholm harbour back in 1976 for an ABBA exclusive, right at the time that Abba announced to him that they'll tour Australia.I recently 'stumbled' again to this old nterview but don't know which place it was. They also took a brief cruise and the palace was also visible from there.

Finally, it`s time to thank you BB. As a german fan since "People need love", your videos are a time travel for me every time. These wonderful moments bringing me back to my childhood and youth are real and absolute emotional treasures for me. It`s not just about the music nor the lifestyle of the 70`s. It`s about the wonderful human beings they all are. Today I would say, the world was ready for them in these days and so were they. One can`t explain, how their aura and charisma affected the people, so am I, but it had some kind of magic. Especially Agnetha is an angel coming down to earth and it`s a wonderful gift living at the same time she does. Especially to you BB, you are still young and never had the chance to see them in their prime time full of "ABBAmania". But you must be an absolute empathic personality, because you succeed in telling and taking people back to these times. This is really fabulous. I can feel, that this comes from your heart, please keep up and take me back in time whenever and however you want. Thank you BB for doing so, thank you ABBA for lighting up my life by your music and just being who you are

I visited Stockholm in 2018 as the starting point of my epic journey to the Arctic (Svalbard and Greenland) and I only scheduled 2 nights there. I just assumed it would be kind of ho-hum like Oslo. I was so wrong! Stockholm is incredibly beautiful and brimming with places to explore and some of the best vegan restaurants I have ever found anywhere. I had loaded up my phone with the entire ABBA studio catalogue and it was the soundtrack to my short visit which, of course, included the ABBA Museum. Such great memories of such a great city. Thanks for taking me there again virtually.

Wow, that sounds like some fabulous days/nights, and that soundtrack!! I can only agree with you when it comes to vegan restaurants. But... you should have done the same standing ovation you did before the trip to london.. promos you know.. :) .btw, strange the Swedish dont know how to add some signs on these buildings and locations, describing all this important history in their calture, and for tourists.similar to what the british are doing in london for the Beatles... Btw, in sure that this movie as well as most of your clips can really be added and seen in the Abba museum. Really amazing, no words! . I guess btw that in the 2nd part we will go together to the studio on the island where Benny and Bjorn recorded most of the bands songs. And... maybe also going to visit Agnetha?.... 😀

Very nice video. As a Swede, I've walked past several of these sites for 40 years without ever knowing their significance. I knew where Polar Studios used to be, of course (a gym, really...) but the others remained hidden in clear sight. There is a lot more of Stockholm and its suburbs to see in the "Bang-a-Boomerang" video. It's probably my favourite ABBA video as well because it's the only one where they truly radiate joy and happiness. It's the happiest video ever made.

Yes! I ate at Hermans. I didn't remember the name at first, but I did remember that it was on the south side of the river and high up on a cliff with several outdoor dining areas and lovely views. It was the most ridiculously decadent buffet! I have to admit that, as someone from New York City, I have found that the best (cheap) vegan restaurants are in Europe (Stockholm, Copenhagen and Zurich in particular). Thank you so much. What a wonderful peek into ABBALAND. I hoped from the start you would do some videos like this one. Such a beautiful city to provide them with inspiration. You can see why leaving it for tours was hard. If you get the chance I'd love to see more. Would love to see the Folkparks where they all performed in the solo days. Do they still exist? The museum? Also the towns they grew up in. I wouldn't want you to turn this into a job - but if you get the chance I'd love to see more. Thank You again so much.

Great video BB. It's especially good to see the studios and get a feel for what the area around them was like after reading about them in Carl Magnus Palm's Complete Recording Sessions. My first visit to Stockholm was in Summer 1979. I went to Baldersgatan 1, ABBA's office back then. I rang the doorbell and someone buzzed me in! Sadly ABBA weren't there - at least, the person who came to see me said they weren't in! She showed me the office where they dealt with all the fan mail and allowed me to take a few photos - the walls everywhere were covered in gold discs. It was a very elegant building. I bought a few souvenirs before I left. It was a total thrill! Looking forward to seeing more locations in your next instalment.

BB thank you for your wonderful video. I went to Metronome studio when I went to Stockholm, just to see it. I also have a photo of myself entering the former Polar Studio. When we arrived at Stockholm my Dad got me the book by Sara Russell and I dragged him around as many ABBA sights as I could. 😉🇬🇧🇺🇦

@@bobbysbrother137 Unfortunately, I don't have any idea, but I guess it was shot somewhere near on a ruin or in a historical/national site, becuase of those bricks scattered on the floor.

Another excellent video. I assume you will be showing the other sites around Djurgarden including Skansen and Grona Lund. The video for 'Bang-A-Boomerang' was shot on the southern shore of the island and I think 'SOS' might have been too. It's why 'ABBA The Museum' is perfectly sited with lots of these sites within easy walking distance.

Brilliant!!!! Thank you for showing us all these iconic places, as always so wonderfully made. By the way, I love Stockholm! It had to be King Kong Song when that chaos was produced...as ABBA don't like the song at all, maybe they could tell now that it was improved that way....

I done the same tour using that very same guide book back in 2018.. The one place I wanted see was the building in Djurgarden that was used to photograph the front cover of the Visitors Album... Apparently inside that building it still is exactly as it was when the photo was taken.. The guy that owns it only opens it up a few times throughout the summer, but if you are lucky enough to be there when that is you can take a look inside, but I believe you cannot take photos..

It is possible to go inside Kronbergs ateljé, where they shot the artwork for "The Visitors". You can always try to address them before your trip, by phone or mail, and ask kindly. It still is exactly as it was in 1981, as if time stood still. I'm very happy about that. And as far as I know you're even allowed to take photos and film.
