@@TammyLReyes right? There was no such thing as "explicit lyrics" thank goodness! There is simply no reason for musicians (or even authors for that matter IMO) to include profanity. I'm glad, at least, that people are informed of "explicit lyrics," so they can make the choice not to listen to the music. There are plenty of great songs that don't contain that garbage.

@@NicholasAndre1right? I wish they had done more live shows. I'm glad Olivia was able to get together with them (and Andy Gibb of course). She and Abba were able to transition through the decades incredibly well. For Abba it was just 70's into early 80's and their recent release, of course. Olivia, I think, had hits from the 60's to the 90's.

As a former singer and performer, I have such deep respect and love for each of these singers. They were stunning and perfect!! It wasn’t just incredible voice and talent… it was how they could invoke the very best within our hearts and minds, without vulgar language, without hate and disrespect, without the need for “shock and awe”, and bring us together with deep resonating fun and unity. This was an era when musicians were truly larger than life because they earned it, pushed the very limits of what true talent can accomplish and create REAL stage magic. How I miss those days…

@ Buford T. Justice you are so very right! These people were and are true musicians who composed and interpreted some of the most beautiful music ever produced. There are some amazing new musicians nowadays, but they're obscure by the flashy garbage that the industry promotes for the sake of the mighty dollar. I'm a singer also, now in my 60's. I occasionally join in some local bands, but it was never my intention to be a headliner. I sing for me because I like it, just as I cook for me and friends. My professional career is far away from my art and culinary skills. It may sound selfish, but that's the way it is. Thank you for such a thoughtful and heartfelt statement.

Absolutely agree with you. But ABBA never had “ street credit in America because the so called musical journalist just could t get their head around the enormous commercial success and artistic appeal of these four humble Swedes. Even last year when they were nominated for their first Grammy after their release of their fantastic come back album Voyage after a 40 year hiatus -which itself is a historical feat- and bears the same name as their ground breaking ABBATar show - the New York Times critic called their music “ thin, thiin, thiin.. Which explains a lot about our musical tastes and standards.

@@GoCruit Barry burnt down the Johnny Cash home. I can forgive that but only cause Cash was passed on and I remember the Bee Gees. The closest to Disco that I'll go is a live version of "Shakedown Street" but the era saw those guys playing the "Stayin Alive" melody. Studio 54 would've been interesting but the sex and drugs more than the Disco. There were some songs of the era that weren't so bad but that's because I wasn't an adult yet and chose Rock, Metal, Punk, Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead, Stones, Zepplin, CSN& sometimes Y, Jimi, Dylan, Ken Kesey, Owsley, Reggae, Funk, Bitches Brew, Joan Jett, Janis, the Who, etc. all were more important than the Disco but I remember the time-frame and Bee Gees, Blondie, Donna Summer and even the low point in the career of KISS. JOHNNY CASH and other stuff thanks to my dad and my mom still listened to The Beatles, MoTown, and other. Andy Gibb and Olivia are the best on this but I'll never state that this was the best of anything. I do remember being in the Philippines when I saw Grease and Saturday Night Fever the same night. Mediocre music is far better than no music and great music can feel orgasmic.

I can't believe I just found this. At 21 years old I live for 70s music, ABBA has been my favorite band since I was four, and I'm also a huge fan of The Bee Gees and Olivia Newton-John, my favorite female solo artist. To me this is what heaven sounds like, all of my idols singing together. LOVE IT.

Gaby, I am 54 years old and I STILL live for the 70's ! The music back then was so rich and harmonious compared to today's rap and crap! Actually, I could not even name a single current song! Okay, I'm really not all that out of touch, instead music is just out of touch with my tastes!
