I wouldn’t say deep bass Frida. She’s a mezzo-soprano. Which means she sings in a lower range than Agnetha, but Frida can climb up the ranges just like Agnetha.

Even Abba's lesser known songs were dynamite! This performance was for a BBC special called 'Abba in Switzerland' produced by Michael Hurll, recorded February 1979. At this time Agnetha had a six year old daughter Linda, and son Peter just two years and two months old (her figure in that skintight outfit is flawless). But sadly her marriage to Bjorn was on the rocks. They divorced the following year, 1980. Agnetha suffered various phobias, including flying, crowds and heights. She struggled with fame as a result, and touring the world became a traumatic ordeal. She loved being a mother, and preferred spending time with her beloved children over Abba duties. Ambitious husband Bjorn could not understand her priorities, and the rift between them became an impasse.

Pues te equivocas. Frida al comienzo empieza con un registro bajo difícil para Agnetha que le acomodan más las notas altas. En cambio Frida después canta la canción en un tono más alto que al comienzo, es difícil identificarlas después de ambas. No obstante, Frida le da cuerpo y profundidad a la canción, siendo la voz de soporte. ❤

@@Factory1313 Sorry, you're wrong. Frida has the deep, velvety voice you hear in the verses, Agnetha makes the ecstatic "please don't wait" exclamation in the 2nd verse. And both sing in the chorus, as usual with ABBA. Agnetha's voice goes through a bit more because it's more edgy and nasal (not meant as a derogatory, I adore her voice too). Smoking hot song btw.

First time when I heard Lovers I was a young teenager and frankly speaking didn't like this song too much, at that time it seemed too fast for me. But later it became one of my most favourite songs from ABBA. And even now after so many years I still love "Lovers", this song really "lives a little longer". Thank You, ABBA!

I completely agree. I don't think I played it much when it first came out, but thats because I wasn't musically mature enough to appreciate it's slightly discordant sound and frenzied vocals. Now I recognize it as a pop masterpiece, and this live vocal is just awesome. You can really see how much they loved singing it.

All other songs were much slower and we were used to listen to them. Btw., now I wonder how I will like the new ABBA's album planned for this November (2021). After 40 years from their last album "The Visitors" we all listen to completely different music.

'Lovers Live a Little Longer' is categorically not the fastest song from that time (the Voulez-Vous album). It's about the same downtempo but funky speed as 'If It Wasn't for the Nights' and both of those songs are even slower tempo-wise than 'The King Has Lost His Crown'. Only 'Chiquitita' and 'I Have a Dream' are slower on the album. ALL of the other songs... 'As Good as New', 'Voulez-Vous', 'Angeleyes', 'Kisses of Fire' and 'Does Your Mother Know'... are considerably faster.

According to "The real story of ABBA" by Carl Magnus Palm (page 379), Björn achnowledged: "When I found that I no longer wanted to go home in the evening and would try to delay it as late as possible, hoping that Agnetha would have gone to bed, then I knew I had to do something about it." Agnetha recalled: "I felt trapped in our marriage, locked up, walled up. We ran out of love, quite simply, and started wearing each other down ... There's something weird about marriage. You devote all your time to each other. The framework becomes too constricted and suddenly you stand there, wondering what happened. Palm further writes: "In the summer of 1978 the situation got so bad that a seperation seemed the only way out. I don't know if "Should I laugh or cry" is a comment to this, or if it related to Frida and Benny. Read the lyrics and judge yourself.
