ABBA My love My life Reaction Video Starts at 01:11 1. There's a lot of dynamic contrast in this song. It swells a lot throughout. Adds a lot to the pull and pull of the song. Creates a lot of stress and release.

Bought the album Arrival, and played this song incessantly. Nobody in the house complained. That was a first. It is a fantastic song, still listen to it a couple of times a week, 40 plus years later. I have heard you say how you like the rise and fall of a song, the contrast between upbeat and slow tempo. I'm with you on that, so try "Move on" another underrated classic.

Thanks for the reaction. Both those girls are great vocalist, You should do "I Wonder" off Departure - Or "Like An Angel Passing Through My Room" off The Visitors to show off Frida's vocal skills. You know Benny and Bjorn are great, and I do mean great songwriters. But at that time these girls where just unmatched in talent. And to have them both in one band performing your work. Lucky guy's. But you could say the same with the girls getting their songs to perform too. Just a great mix of talent.

Slipping Through My Fingers is a better song for me than Like An Angel, though it isn't a Frida song obviously. Frida has a major vocal part on The Name of the Game. Obviously her lead vocal on Super Trooper is famous. Fernando is also famous. I Let The Music Speak has been reacted to. There's a good live version of Money Money Money from Japan.

The ''Up and down'' flow of the song echo's the emotions being felt by the singer. The sense of loss/panic leads to an intake of air and the chest heaves; that gives way to a feeling of quiet realisation of the situation.

very much enjoyed your reactions to ABBA and now, let's see if you might be lured further down the rabbit hole and react to some solo work. Agnetha, the blonde female in the group, went into somewhat of a self-imposed exile in the late 80's until surprisingly re-emerging 25 years later in 2013 with the release of an album simply entitled "A". The single that coincided with the release of the album was entitled "When You Really Loved Someone". Some have speculated, 'though I am not one of them, that this was a sort of auto-biographical endeavour. Nevertheless, it was so nice to hear that angelic voice once again (although she does not have the range she once did, I find her voice still as lovely as ever).

A song I'd like to recommend by ABBA, is 'I Am Just A Girl'. Although there's diversity in their music, there's a degree of conformity to them, that makes them easily identifiable ABBA songs, however, 'I Am Just A Girl' was sung at the start of their career, before they succeeded international fame, and the song has a uniqueness that stands out from other ABBA songs.

In my opinion this is one of ABBA's very best songs and I never heard it on the radio. But I don't hear anyone else singing in the song so is this just a song for Agnatha?
@bdm10003 жыл бұрын
I agree about the dynamics, but I would also plug Agnetha's high parts. I know she's claimed on more than one occasion that they were always pushing her to sing higher and higher without straining or distorting her voice and this is a good example of that. There are even better examples in my opinion, however, but they are more of a part of the background of other songs. That's the thing about ABBA, there's no way to make up my mind about most songs with just a few listens. There is so much content that you can listen to them for years and one day lock in on a tone or something that you hadn't noticed. I'm also always looking for Agnetha's little something. She said she always put a little something in every song unique to her.

It's one of those musicals where next to no-one can actually sing. I cringe each time a musical number starts in the film and some god awful actor/actress either talks there way through the song or just sings it flat as a tack.

What I like about the chorus is that it feels extended, someone might think it's over but then it goes on a bit more. That suggests a bit more ambition. The only part that feels a bit simpler to me - and it's a minor criticism in the context of the recording - is the 'possessed you/God bless you' rhyme. 'God bless you' sounds kind of twee.
@jaybrielakoi77474 жыл бұрын
I like it when composers fake endings. I just dont like it when they do it more than a couple times. And if they're gonna fake the ending the real ending must be better than what I felt it was going to be. If that makes any sense to you guys.
@starry20064 жыл бұрын
@@jaybrielakoi7747 I didn't mean to suggest it was a fake ending to me, it's simply extended. It's just that those who are used to simpler songs might be more surprised. I find the song flows quite well throughout.
