Welcome back BB, we missed you! Re Abba The First 50 Years.. yawn.. I’ll buy it buying all things Abba but disappointed nothing we don’t already have. Living in Australia where ‘On & On & On’ peaked at 9 on charts, I would’ve put that on compilation & left ‘Little Things’ off.. Maybe there will be a local version like they did with Abba Gold. In Australia, ‘I’ve Been Waiting For You’ even peaked at No 49. An Alternate mixes cd would be great. So many extended, edited, demo versions of their songs I’ve heard would be great & finish it off with ‘Just Like That’.. That’s my dream anyway.. Missed you BB, great to see u back. I am very intrigued by Frida's visits to ABBA Voyage, I always wonder if these visits to London are also linked to other activities, either contractual or artistic on the possible musical or technological evolution of the concert, particularly since There is the possibility of the show being duplicated on another continent. As for Björn's statements, for years we have been accustomed to him saying seemingly contradictory things but which are often tidbits relating to projects currently in development. So whatever they are (Mamma mia 3 or another film, Songs, Abba Voyage Concert...), I would absolutely not be surprised to see the group reunited again if a big event were to see the light of day.

Welcome back Bobby's Brother. In 1988 in the UK, a vhs tape called ABBA -More video hits was released featuring a blue cover and a The Album inner sleeve picture on the front. It contains the video to Twist in the dark and also other Frida, ABBA and Agnetha videos including Can't shake loose. Volume one was purely ABBA videos. Benny's new BAO Orkester cd came with a very limited edition (signed by Benny) card from a well known Swedish music store. for initial orders. A nice touch.

I've noticed on Qobuz that the First Fifty Years is due to be released in 24-bit 96 kHz audio format. As this is the first time these songs have been released digitally in high resolution I am very excited about this release. No one online seems to have noticed this.

So glad you're back BB with this summer review. And very satisfying to hear and see you expressing in a very diplomatic way the disappointment with the updated and ridiculous version of The Singles. The typography is a real shoddy and disrespectful job to the band, their art and design teams over the years and to the fans. I for one would not have this intrusion inside my physical collection, maybe better amongst some bootleg material. Honestly, what is this Font, so spaced out, thin and unimpressive?! Looking forward to seeing more videos from you! 🎉

Good to see you back 😎 I agree about the first 50 years a very underwhelming release it doesn’t do the first ten years any justice as that had such a chic photo shoot for the time . The 50 years cover has to be one of my least favourite shots of ABBA it’s very dated . Something from voyage would have been nice maybe with the original 82 cover used also as it has never been used apart from that 82 compilation and it’s such a great photo of the band .

Imo, despite VOYAGE's album kinda ''unfair" "non-M,Tretowed mix",i pick 3 songs that are already classics for me.'FAITH"/"SHUT"/"OTF".Of course only time will tell,but i believe if some of them get included in a possible future MM3 to accomplish the trilogy they will get boosted even more. Kinda same way it had happenened with ''LAYLOM"/"STMFingers"/"Angeleyes" etc that back then weren't (comparatively) the major Abba bangers but time did them justice after the were given more chances and even newer Gens became familiar with them.Btw LAYLOM is a top choice (together with GGG and DQ) in Abba's discography amongst younger Gens, and just think that it was only a limited maxi single release back in '81.Sabrina Carpender of the ''Espresso" fame often did LAYLOM while touring as a supportive act with T.Swift.

Hey! Some of us were a little worried about your absence so hello and welcome back BBs! About Frida I want to say that when she says "I'm so touched", and her voice is almost to break and cry, that makes me so emotional! In this time I have seen all the things you compilled in this video and I realized that little thing Bjorn said in the radio interview, and that made me want to review the comments some of they made for the press after the receiving of the royal order. Frida says something like "I shouldn't say it but it's like a good closing". And then she talks about the progressive music movement in the 70s and how that movement was against them (ABBA). I loved her (more!) when she says "I thought would be funny for some of them to be here today and receive an award. 😆

Nice to have you back, BB! Like you, I have very little enthusiasm over the new comp. In fact, I feel this is very much for completists only. There are folks who would want to buy it just for the sake of owning it. All the more power to them but I rather skip it. Up until now, my quest was to actually get a copy of “The Singles - The First Ten Years” since I didn’t have one…to my surprise, my housemate was holding on to an extra copy he found on a garage sale, and gave it to me. To hear this album, see the progression from the beginning to the end of their initial run, is truly fantastic. I guess I’ll give that to the new compilation: it rounds the story a bit more, even with “No Doubt About It” as the final track and its message of longevity…just like ABBA’s story, “this isn’t where it ends”.

Maybe he means that with the Abbatars and the show in London, ABBA are still in the present (and future). My personal idea is that ABBA is not arrived at the end because all 4 members are still alive and still can sing and make music. So you never know what can happen...

Unfortunately it's been known for years, DECADES, that STV simply erased the master video reels & the U-Matic broadcast cartridges, so a FULL re-master of the coveted CAVETT video concert, seems highly unlikely. Benny owned the 24 track audio session tapes, so IT IS POSSIBLE, that an audio-only version can be released, but I really feel Benny has lost interest in that 1981 "The Visitors" promotional project. ​@@michaelrochester48 You are correct to some degree, I too have seen a German or Swedish VHS footage of "Knowing Me, Knowing You" here on good ol' fashion You Tube; Frida was FANTASTIC SOUNDING!!! However, the video quality is marginal at best & the audio is in broadcast TV mono, of course. This is true, with technology softwares, the best video that is out there can be obtained and restored, but WE STILL HAVE TO REMEMBER, STV still owns the intellectual rights to ALL the video; still obtained, lost or erased. Benny had to lease the few master video reels that did not get haphazardly erased by the irresponsible staff at STV and then add his pristine mixed audio to it that his personal engineer Michael Tretow prepared, for the "BLUE" Box Set, which by the way, I am fortunate enough to own.
