I completely agree with Bjorn and the 35, 000 artists. As a music fan, I want to see authenticity. I don't want robot-created fakery, and won't pay to listen to it. I'm fine with the use of effects to enhance a creative project, but not theft of ideas, or pretence that something is what it is not.

The design of the pinball machines is neat and should be present at the ABBA museum but this remains anedoctic given the price of these machines. I completely agree with Björn's point of view and I have a special thought for artists whose identity is stolen in addition to their creative work.

I agree with these artists.💖 A.I. has no emotions, empathy, humor...and it doesn't have a Soul like we humans have! So these qualities are also NOT present in the things produced by A.I. 🤖🦿🦾

Total 💯 percent back Bjorn. There was a BBC interview I watch on this platform. Had the boys on, they talked about AI, she got an App out, asked to right an ABBA song. When it was done, she asked what they thought of this,. Benny was on the line (WELL THATS RUBBISH)not that last word of I can remember. I burst out laughing.

Bjorn once said about another interesting issue, that he is a supporter of paying with cards and not cash. Where I absolutely disagree with him on this topic. Because cash is freedom and independence and a payment card is nothing more than a method of making people dependent and controlled, which will ultimately lead to loss of freedom and full dependence on the system.

I love the ABBA pinball machine… i should think if that goes to London people will be queuing up for a go! As to AI, this depends on the ‘learning aspect’… I write songs and so my influences will be affected by what I hear, like and whatever bit of creativity sparks an idea in my head… the models are trained in the same way. They learn patterns, styles then take a creative element (the human bit you enter) and then use that.. the difference is my memory may have a few thousand songs (all stored in my head without permission), the database will have millions… It is the same argument they had with synths, drum machines, then samplers in the past decades. AI is a tool to help musicians rather than a replacement for human creativity. I can see DAWs having AI integrated plugins in the next 3 years…

I'm a songwriter myself, not a very successful one but I do earn some money from my songwriting now and then. In Sweden we have STIM, which is an organization that makes sure that songwriters get paid some money when their songs are played live, on radio, on TV, or online. Similar organizations exist in most other countries. It should work the same way with AI. Every time some AI software uses any of my songs I should get paid for it.

Why not? I'm conflicted. When someone makes $10 million from a month's work and then complains when bits of that work help "inspire" AI music... it's hard to feel sympathetic. If it's straight out copying, then fair enough, but that's not what I've seen. Those struggling song writers... fair enough, but Bjorn has done pretty damn well out of ABBA. His grumbling is a little annoying. It leaves a sour taste.

Didn’t Bjorn do a discussion about AI a few years ago. And he was quite interested in it. I have never agreed with AI, and I was incredibly confused by Bjorns comments. I’ll go as so far to say that AI and its capabilities terrify me, and especially for my children, and their children. AI was always going to be ‘wrong’. And here we are.
@6549MarciАй бұрын
AI itself is not the problem. Progress cannot be stopped, whether you agree with it or not. In fact, AI has been around for a long time-we have computers, smartphones, and many other things we use daily without realizing it. After all, even the ABBA Voyage show is AI, and it is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, it is also widely used by greedy individuals and companies to steal all kinds of things.
@BradHoover-m1iАй бұрын
If all artists' works are going to be restricted from AI, then you might as well restrict human artists from listening to each other. Our brains incorporate everything we experience. How's that any different what AI does?
@ag4871Ай бұрын
@@6549MarciSorry, but I would disagree that Voyage is AI. Yes, software was used to render the graphics, calculate reflections and shadows etc. but the 3D modelling was motion captured and implemented by people spending millions of man hours applying their art. Fully agree it's amazing, though.

Humanity needs to respect the artists among us. If we give away creativity to the mashines just because we want a fast made product without history of making we will then give away the humanity itself. The mashines must never become more than tools.

Good for Bjorn. I write as a hobby. I thought maybe one day I could make something of it for real. Now I'm not so sure. Do people really want to listen to songs and read books written by computers? I don't think so. But the corporations will take the human element out if it can make them money.

It's such a tragedy that AI is probably already 'out of hand'. It may never be possible to put the genie back in the bottle. I'm glad Bjorn and the 35,000 others wrote the letter but what legal power does it really represent. Until their are laws to prevent it (maybe there are), it will take legal action, will it not? And situations like this take years to litigate! The ABBA pinball machine is really cool! Being a Corvette fan, I have a Corvette-themed pinball machine. 'Have to add the ABBA machine and start a collection! Keep up the great work, BB. I enjoy all the ABBA news and history!

@ag4871Ай бұрын
AI models are 'trained' by examining previously existing material, whether that be music, images, language etc. So if you ask an AI platform to create something it is extrapolating from the material it has already been fed. For example, you could ask chatGPT or the like to 'write a song in the style of ABBA' and it would come out with something based on ABBA's lyrics which were used to train it. This is fine if it's done purely for fun, but if someone was then to record music based on the work of actual artists who receive no credit or royalties that's a problem. AI platforms have been training their models using copyrighted material without permission for some time now.

I always thought that this was the reason for Copyright. Surely the companies that steal the work, whether for using on AI or to perform, should be taken to court & fined? Also BB have you seen the video which was posted by Universal on Abba KZbin page with the title Christmas for Children on Italian playing MAMMA Mia? Strange thing is it isn't showing when I click on Abba channel subscription🤔

This video clearly states that artists want licensed use rights to be paid, which is more than fair. We've already seen this story when mp3s appeared: Apple stood up, worked as a middle person between consumers and music, and now we can all enjoy downloading music by paying for it.
