It's a strong one in the sentimental compartment, just like My love my life, When all is said and done, Our last summer, Happy new year, The day before you came, One of us, Slipping through my fingers, etc. But tunes like The Visitors, Lay all your love on me, Summernight city, The Pipers, I let the music speak, and others are just as strong, as I see it, although in different modes and styles.

This is a dark horse in abba's aresenal. Because it's a deep cut and not played often it's more of pleasure to hear. You just never get tired of it. I love when Frida prolongs that note towards the end and the piano and strings pick up again. Sublime.

ABBA are like an iceberg, to the broad public only the tip of the good songs is known, but almost all of their songs are magnificent. And although they are recognizable when you listen to them, they have many different styles of songs. This proves that Benny and Bjorn didn't make standardized songs like most todays groups. Pure music ingenuity!!

Always been one of my fave non-single Abba songs. Another powerful, vocal from Frida full of emotion. The 2 voices in the chorus are heavenly as always and so very pleasing on the ears and all senses. The instrumental section at the end with the strings and piano is so full of emotion. It's beautiful. Abba are the gift that keeps giving and giving and giving. Each time as amazing as the first ♥️

This is a sublime, sophisticated song and one of my ABBA favourites. You can indeed feel deep emotions in it, no doubt being felt by all four members, given the ups and downs of their respective relationships. I wish they had dared to release more of these moody ballads during their time together as I feel this is the kind of song that might have garnered the band a little bit more respect and attention from the music critics and snobs who pigeon-holed the band as purveyors of bubblegum pop. And yes, Dereck, you really should give 'Eagle' another listen, but this time the sublime full-length version, because the edit you listened to ripped the heart and soul out of that majestic song. Here's a wonderful TV performance of it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5y4cnR_brZ8nZo

Wow!, I hadn't seen that perfomance of 'Eagle' from that German TV performance before. And I think the interweaving, later, of scenes of 'Eagle' from 'ABBA the Movie' that used film-stock, and the video-stock version released for the single. Thanks Synchronicity Man 😃✨🎶👍 And it's great that it's the proper-length version of 'Eagle' with its earthy and heady guitar instrumental 💝🦅 (...Dereck, if you do review "Eagle' again, please include that guitar instrumental 😊). Frida & Agentha convey their emotions of contentment, wonder and bliss so well in that main German TV clip, as they do in the film- and video-stock versions. Fantastic ✨💖✨

Benny said in an interview he doesn't understand why people like ABBA music, I think one reason is eg. this song is so old and i still get goosebumps. unbelievable, you can't describe it and it goes on like this although time went on new productions etc. Micheal B. I Wonder is definitely the next Abba track that you should check out Dereck. And for Frida's solo, please react to Aven En Blomma.. Its EXQUISITE and a GEM.. you'll NEVER EVER going to regret it. Its a joy to see you enjoying, appreciating and analysing Abba at their exquisite finest!!! Love and appreciate you and your precious reaction forever more, coz nobody, simply NOBODY are able to give deep and meaningful musical analysis like you do. There's only ONE thing though Dereck, and I'm saying this for the love and betterment of your future reactions (coz I DO love and appreciate each reaction you're doing to these great Abba songs). I just hope that in future, when you chop and stop the video to air your great views and analysis, pleaseee ensure that you don't disrupt and ruin the good flow of the ongoing song. I mean, I get it that you do need to pause every now and then, but do try to avoid disrupting the beauty of the ongoing melodies, verses and choruses. For instance, in this video, it may be a better idea to wait up untill the whole line/chorus is sung before you intervene to add your great input. Even when you rewind the video a little bit to ensure you don't miss out on anything, you often go backward too little, and as a result, when you resume the video, you risk disrupting the flow of the beautiful melodies and meaning even more. To me, this IS the only set back in your already great reactions. And I think if you could improve a little on this, your reaction would be FLAWLESS. On the contrary, you did a much better job in your commentaries and reaction to Move On that day. You didn't disrupt the beautiful flow of the melodies that much in the Move On video. However, even in the Move On video, you may want to improve a little when you rewind the video though, so as to avoid disrupting the melodies and lyrical contents of the song. Take care and stay safe Dereck. Don't mind my comments above, just my two cent honest opinion for a slight improvement on your already splendid Abba reactions. Keep it up brother.

Thanks for your input and I totally understand...as much as I don't want to disrupt the flow of a song I can't let the song play too long or it will get caught by the bots...I also think it depends on how much time there between each verse etc...what I can do is rewind alittle that I will try to improve...thanks again

I totally understand you Dereck. In addition, do check out Frida's Aven En Blomma. She was in her 40's when she sung that song, and she looked great and sounded beautiful and soulful.. I'm totally enjoying your indepth comments and reviews on Abba (and Bee Gees). Nobody gives honest musical analysis, observations and comments like you do, you know. You are an honest and beautiful soul. Keep up the splendid work, Dereck. I really appreciate you personally AND professionally. Luv from Malaysia

Hello Dereck is so nice to see You again with another ABBA reaction This is a very deep song in the cult album that is “Arrival”, a comprehensive work of art with nine works of art as diverse as they are magnificent "One man One woman" has deep lyrics, (I love the phrase: our love is a precious thing…) a great interpretation by Frida (heartfelt and strong) and a powerful entrance from Agnetha to add a verse before each chorus and make it magnificent, a solid backing music with a great final It is one of the best ballads of Frida in the leading voice "ABBA The Album" is a golden pearl It is full of excellent numbers That is why this beautiful song is a little more relegated and with logic It is very difficult to beat the hit Take a chance on me, the majestic Eagle, the creative The mame of the game , the Andean Move on, the unique and powerful rock Hole in your soul, and if that weren't enough there is the mini musical "The girl with the golden hair" that includes powerful tracks like Thank you for the music I wonder I'm a marionette But not only the song is very good The video is a beauty, how they play with the images of them, entering interspersed and leaving with their faces I think you still haven't heard the songs from the mini musical Ideal would be to take them from the concert in Australia 1977 (even with the audio difficulties) I suggest them for your next reactions And don't forget “Hole un your soul” from this same album, but live at Wembley 1979, it's an unforgettable experience! See you in another video I wish you an excellent weekend God bless you, take care Kind regards from Argentina

this song was never an official single. its wonderful that ABBA created videos for album tracks. and performing them "live" sometimes. as i mentioned before ABBA had so many incredible songs that were never singles so it was important to them to make these non album singles videos because they were all so great

The secret to ABBA's success and appeal was the fact that they did not hail from the Anglo-Saxon nations,,,,,,which caught the world by surprise,,,,,they are from Escandinávia. 💙💛

No Scandinavian artists could make it in the UK/US before them really. All such attempts were simply thrown in the trash without even listening. Just ask Björn Ulvaeus, Micke Tretow, or the Scandinavian artists that actually tried to reach out to the anglosaxon world during the 1960s or 70s :D

@@herrbonk3635 👍😀Yes, ABBA opened the door for other artists. And even if they hadn't won Eurovision in 1974,,,,,they were destined to be big worldwide, because their music was just too good. Their combined talent is staggering! They are a «Supergroup». ♫♪♥

@@resireg 😮 Don't forget «Europe» with their smash hit «The Final Countdown», and Yngwie Malmsteen and Army of Lovers,,,,, and the «ABBA Teens», with their début album «The ABBA Generation» also known as the «A*Teens»,,,,,, and I don't like death metal,,,😝😖 but they have Marduk too. Don't forget Tomas Ledin, who did a duet with Agnetha Fältskog in 1983, called «Never Again», which was a big hit in Northern Europe. I saw Roxette, live Boston, at the Orpheum Theatre, in 1992, during their «Join The Joyride World Tour» ♫♪♥

That sublime outro could have been extended by another 10-15 seconds. Side One of the original vinyl LP of 'The Album' is utterly brilliant. Side Two ain't bad either.

Now that you mention Eagle again, YES, you need a redepmtion for that one, you need to hear the album version which is almost 6 minutes long, it's incredible. This album flows in a really nice way, so I would also suggest if possible to react to the ABBA albums as a whole :) Additionally you need to react to That's Me, Our Last Summer, Elaine, My Love, My Life, and mentioning it again to the full version of EAGLE. Thanks Dereck and sending you some Love
