Bobby's Brother, your videos are gifts, definitely. Just such a pleasure to watch and listen to. So much detail goes into everything you say and show. Funny and serious. Fascinating and you really do bring the AbbaLife closer to us all. I have no doubt at all that whoever wants to make a new video documentary about the Abba Story will have to consult you and your videos. Thank you for the work BB. ABBA must be watching you somewhere and reliving all their professional and a pat of their personal life.

Bobby you do amazing work on these videos. This recording chronologically video is just so beautiful! Thank you! I really hope someone takes you and all your work on to help them create an amazing ABBA series about them, their music, performances, where they were, photographs etc and all this work you have done. A fully professionally filmed and authorised series about them, not that what you are doing is anything less, but I hope you know what I mean. Someone like Apple TV or Netflix, and pay you and attribute all this work to you. ❤

After your interesting feature on Michael B. Tretow a while back, I've found that I miss his engineering prowess on "Voyage". The usual shimmering synced harmonies and crisp, clear soundscape are what made him such a vital part of the studio team. Thanks for this informative video Bobby's B ~ you have in a dynamic way revitalised all things ABBA for so many fans!

I love your videos. Your research, full of photographs, anecdotes and memories, helps to accurately and neatly describe the details, and you can feel the energy and vibe of ABBA in every place visited during its history. I can't wait to be there touring the recording studios, ABBA were undoubtedly very professional and perfectionist in their work, at the same time humble and charitable. With each new album they raised the quality of their recordings to an unattainable level. Their artistic life was always more in the recordings studios than in concert stadiums or traveling in hotels and limos. The hard work bore fruit that to this day are musical treasures. By the way, you should also mention in the next video the Criteria Studio in L.A, California, US. (And the connection with the Bee Gees brothers) where Voulez-Vous backing track was recorded, the only ABBA song recorded outside of Sweden. Happy holidays Bobby ❤

Awesome video Bobby's Brother! I went on a pilgrimage to Metronome and Polar studios in June 2023 and to be honest I just didn't get the vibe from the places at all. They both seemed to me so far removed from when they were recorded. So glad to have seen them though!

Thank you, Bobby's Brother, for making my Boxing Day morning a happy one, and posting this video. That entrance to the old Metronome studio looks great, doesn't it? These videos really show off what an attractive city Stockholm is, and that neighbourhood looks great. I'm pleased you said it used to be a cinema, because the windows outside the front doors really have that feel, don't they? So looking forward to part two now. Have a great week, BB... although now I have a strange hankering for cinnamon rolls 🤔

Thanks for this, I have been spending an hour trying to figure out why The Album sounds so much better than previous records, when they all are claimed to be recorded in Metronome, but this makes it clear that it was recorded at Soundtrade and Mixed at Bohus, which completely explains it. No wonder they decided that build their own studio after that. 😀

Enjoyed this much BB thanks and Merry Christmas ! .... those early studio pics with both Agnetha and Frida smoking, cigarettes in hand....I would never had thought they were smokers. As much as I respect and appreciate the music recording engineer talents of Michael B. Tretow, I have a couple of his LP's and have only gave them a listen once and that was enough.
@alexioverdo522510 ай бұрын
Agnetha quit smoking by the very late '70s i think.Too much smoking for a long time is also harming the voice.But at the time it was 'cool' and very usual.

The Bohus studio was owned by the Swedish popular dance band Streaplers, and many other artists and bands recorded there. One of the bands that recorded at Bohus was Status Quo, according to the Streaplers they were NOT as humble as ABBA and treated them more or less like servants.
@WillelmMacguyver10 ай бұрын
@2:36 In the 70s alot of bands and/or record labels treated studio operations like a giant state secret and would often go to great lengths to prevent any unauthorized photographs, videos, ect while working. I get it that back then the competition was tight but in the end it just robbed future generations of proper documentation of the recording process. Even to this day you'll still see bands (Led Zeppelin for example) guarding it tightly as if they had any worthy competition in new music when clearly they do not, if anything we could use the extra help😅

Didn't they (Frida, Björn and Benny minus Agnetha) also go to France to the Chateau Mormont to record - just to find out that it wasn't really the right place for them?
