This sounds like it takes place in every playground, in this case I think it's an older brother and his friends telling his little sister to go away because she's tagging along wanting to play with them , but they think that's kid stuff and don't want to play with her... Such story telling!.. that's the beauty of ABBA's music there's usually a story being told and you listen intently to see what it is .... A great journey in listening to all their music!!... Love ABBA!!!...🙂

Sounds like a cool '60s tune in a '70s albumAs i already commented .Benny was a fan of The Byrds cover 'Turn!turn!turn!' as he had quotedin an interview some decades back.Unfortunately he couldn't have suspected how awful comments he would get on Abba's music by one of the band's ex members in 2018.He couldn't even express his rightful disaproval on the Swedes in a civilized way.His attitude was rather savage, similar way he looks now looks (in my eyes).

OK, Sweden is not strange. We celebrate Christmas on Christmas eve in Germany too. So much nicer to unwrap presents in the evening. To this song. I never heard it. Is that Benny singing? Never heard him that clear before. I just checked out the songtext. It is quite tough. It is about children who cut out another girl, so Suzy is looking for a friend but kids don't want her. So it is a very sad song. Singing about bullying in the 70's is remarkable, since it was not a topic at that time. But it was there. I lived through it throughout the 70' and 80's and had no help. So Benny already saw something that wasn't really in the picture back then. I like it. 👍

It was (is?) common for a young girl to want to join the older boys' gang. It is/was equally common for a gang of small boys not to want a girl (especially a younger girl) in their gang. This song sums up the unintended cruelty of young kids which they (hopefully) grow out of. It was very brave to address this subject. I think when I was young I probably did that. Of course now I see how hurtful that was. With luck it may have changed the attitude of some of ABBA's younger fans. A brave attempt, anyway.

Saw this reaction today and felt I had to contribute with my interpretation of the song. It is probably about a brother, 10 years of age, and his sister, Suzy, 9 years old. He thinks he’s a man and doesn’t want his sister following him and his friends around. They tell her to go away and find friends of her own, teasing her. Suzy, probably crying, runs home to their mother who scolds the brother and his friends for being mean to Suzy, and they are a bit ashamed. But then they start teasing Suzy again when the mother goes away. The story is told from the grown up man’s perspective, and the way he starts off by stating that this happened "at the time when [little] boys like to think they’re men" makes me think that he now knows that he was the fool and not her.

It's kind of nice Benny sings one song as leadvocalist in ABBA's catalogue but would I want more, probably not. He also wrote the lyrics to this track and its probably the right track for Benny to sing. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Benny's voice or anything because he sings on pretty much all the other ABBA songs in some capacity, ABBA were a four voice group. For me his voice works best in the harmonies. The sound of this song sort of reminds me of groups like The Hollies, The Tremeloes and The Monkees, sort of a blend of twangy guitars. I agree with most of what you say here.
