The harmony between the girl's voices is one of the main reasons they became so big and this song is one fine example of Anni-Frid and Agnetha working so well together and doing what they were born to do -sing masterfully (together)

Beautiful example of all members of the band working together to make the very best music. If Agnetha had gone diva, she could have stolen the band. Any of ABBA could have stolen the band, but instead did exactly what was needed to ensure the band's success.

Yes, they did. I think, from everything that I have heard, that all members of ABBA were really nice people. They were mature when they formed ABBA with their own musical histories and then they had children so no diva behaviour. Toddler tantrums were reserved for home! Yes, they became incredibly rich but they were first and foremost musicians and singers - all of them. They strived to make the best pop music possible and succeeded for 10 years.@@silverback775

That’s Me Lyrics [Verse 1] Are you sure you wanna hear more? What if I ain't worth the while Not the style you'd be looking for? If I'm sweet tonight Things look different in the morning light I'm jealous and I'm proud If you hurt my feelings I'll cry out loud I'm Carrie, not-the-kind-of-girl-you'd-marry That's me [Verse 2] Are you sure you wanna hear more? Would I be the one you seek Mild and meek like the girl next door? Don't you realise I may be an angel in disguise It's lonely to be free But I'm not a man's toy, I'll never be I'm Carrie, not-the-kind-of-girl-you'd-marry That's me [Bridge] I don't believe in fairy tales Sweet nothings in my ear But I do believe in sympathy That's me, you see [Verse 3] Are you sure you wanna hear more? Won't you have a drink with me Just to see you're not really sore? I can't help my ways I'm just not the girl to hide my face I'm Carrie, not-the-kind-of-girl-you'd-marry That's me, mhm I'm Carrie, not-the-kind-of-girl-you'd-marry That's me [Interlude] [Outro] There's a special love Like an eagle flying with a dove I'll find it in the end If I keep on searching, but until then I'm Carrie, not-the-kind-of-girl-you'd-marry That's me

Nuarda Nuarda Well I couldn't agree more! There is an interview with Benny where he says "thank you" to all the ABBA fans because they love the music even though it was often "cheesy". Well I don't think so - sure it was commercial music and none of the ABBA members ever had the goal to make high art. But they were honest about it and always delivered each song with fantastic musicianship. They never underestimated the audience. That alone deserves the highest praise. And yes: I agree with you (I own all ABBA albums and DVDs): Arrival (private helicopter - they even admitted vanity on the album cover art) was the turning point - they added weight, depth and even higher musicianship to their openly admitted commercial music. I can't help but love these guys and gals!!!!

I am a musician, age 56. I grew along ABBA's career development, buying records and listening top charts on radio when they were conquering the musical world. What I am about to say is that their music has so much to show from the musical imagination, harmonic development, form structure and melody construction, it is a treasure shrine to learn from, whatever you are, only a listener or music professional. Some devoted rock fans at the time were calling them kitchy popers, but today even the hardest metal fans admit their quality. They sublimated many genres in their style, from classical to country-folk, from schlager to disco, from musical to sharp rocky expression, dressing everything in tasteful voicings and instrumental figures of arrangements. In fact, what we consider pop music today was founded by them back then.

Many footages of Abba's members show how humble and surprised they were, discovering their success and the joy they gave to hundred millions of listeners and generations over the world. We can feel their humility and natural kindness with their songs.

Charlie C...North Korea rules via fear, and their days are numbered. ABBA used and uses love to make people Happy, and they did that even on tours behind the so-called Iron Curtain...and as you know, that stupid wall came tumbling down, Reagan? Sure, but ABBA helped. That North Korean leader is a shithead.

She was ABBA's vocal weapon. Also great live performer and singer too. Keen ear. Pitch perfect. Versatile. Multiple genre. Won best vocalist awards as child, pre-teen, teen and adult. Took stage at age 10. Pro at 13, 1958, as soon as she was 'legal". In 1964 she won a national Best vocalist award. Then in 1967, she won National Best Vocalist again, which launched her TV Show and EMI Sweden era, 1967-72. She also did some modeling as well. ________ ABBA: Bright Lights Dark Shadows by Carl Magnus Palm Benny, Bjorn and Michael Tretow ABBA's engineer considered Frida a master vocalist. Her peers really gush about her vocal skills, going back to her grade school days.
