I'd like to know what you'd give Bumblebee now. It's become a favourite of mine. Beautiful.

"Tammy" is a nod to country singer Tammy Wynette who dealt with similar subject matter in her marriage. Great review!! I agree with you that the best tracks are "Keep An Eye On Dan" and "Don't Shut Me Down". Also love "Just A Notion" and, oddly "Bumblebee", which has grown on me. Love Frida's soothing vocal here, and it really is a pretty melody.

Love every song on the album. Received my CD on Wednesday and it's now in my car and being listened to all the time when I drive. I listened to the individual songs on KZbin since the launch date and I immediately liked all the songs, some less than others. But now that I've listened to all MANY times I'm pleasantly surprised how much Little Things and Bumblebee have grown on me. Especially since someone mentioned it would be two perfect songs with traditional "Walt Disney" type of videos. I also love that they sing about mature subjects. Amazing new music by artists in their 70's!

I think Ode to Freedom is majestic. It starts with a motif from Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky (in a different time signature) and it swells and falls like a ship riding ocean waves. The lyrics are philosophical and Björn is so humble in the second verse. He acknowledges that living a privileged life, people could justifiably criticise him if he attempted to articulate an ode to freedom. But he self-deprecatingly hopes someone else will do so, so we could all sing along. It is a mini masterpiece with all four friends singing together.

It was originally supposed to have been only two songs recorded and released for the shows they are doing next year. When they got into the studio it was decided to record a full album. I think they did this for the fans as a farewell to the group.

Thx for the review. However Just A Notion is overrated and I Can Be That Woman is underrated. 😘 I admit that I love Bumblebee too. Best track is Don't Shut Me Down. Lovely and moving comeback.

I don't get how you can rate Don't shut me down the same as, say, Dancing Queen or Sos or Knowing me, knowing you. You need more space at the top of your grading system.

Ross if you wouldn't mind I would like to ask the person who left the comment that the song I could be that woman is a nod to Tammy Wynette. I know quite a bit about the woman and also the man she was married to George Jones. The person that left the comment I don't understand where you got the connection. A lot of people are knocking this album but I don't think it's that bad.

Björn Ulvaeus told Apple Music about "I Can Be That Woman", "It's a country song, in essence. And a little gesture to the queen of country, as far as I'm concerned: Tammy Wynette. The good dog is called Tammy. There's a lot of stuff going into that song, but it's basically about someone who has come down from an addiction and finally come down into real life and is sorry about all the wasted years. But there's hope at the end of the tunnel: I can be that woman now. Only we know what is fact and what is fiction about our life experiences together. It's a kind of freedom that you get. With 70, you get that freedom."

I don't like it at all apart from Just A Notion which of course is an old one anyway. As an Abba fan with everything they did plus imports etc, I tried to like it. I just don't.

I think the album needs time to settle in you. It's similar to how ABBA used to be but it's really not the same.
