I have been a fan since 1976 when I bought the ARRIVAL album, and this entire event has left me in a state of euphoria. I never would have believed, at 21-years old, that I would be listening to a new ABBA album at 66-years old!!!

I was born in 1976… There is no doubt in my mind that this is the most important ,nostalgic and classiest musical release of my 45 years. It means everything to me. The four members combined have produced their magnum opus and Voyage is simple genius in its highest form. What a sound!!!! They have all matured gracefully and beautifully and by doing so have become divine. I believe they are more powerful now than ever… I love the nod to past Abba classics encoded in the music and lyrics… No band has encapsulated all my family members love and I have great memories of putting up the Christmas tree and dancing to your music… I have listened to this album sometimes several times a day. It encapsulates the zeitgeist of our age…. ABBA, you guys are so ripe, right on time and your return is like the greatest Christmas present I could have ever hoped for in all my years. I am a 45 year old man and I have wept like a child to this albums beauty and significance. Thanks again ABBA . 🇸🇪 Not only are you Eurovision’s greatest winners but you are Earths greatest no1. Over the years ABBA - and everybody who grew up with them turned mature - and now all share simmilar experiences in their life! I am 55 y.o. today and grew up with ABBA. Their new songs seem to be a travel in time to my own past and back to the present. It's unbelievable! I realize my life isn’t what I dreamt about as I was a young man... there is no plan for a life, it just happens and often we have no way to change the direction.... I am older and aware of that now. Thank you for the (new) music and (new) lyrics! The new Album seems to be a masterpiece! It is! -------------- Die meisten der neuen Songs sind Meisterwerke und die Texte sorgen für Gänsehaut. Im Laufe der Jahre wurden ABBA - und alle, die mit ihnen aufgewachsen sind erwachsen geworden - und teilen jetzt alle ähnliche Erfahrungen in ihrem Leben! The part that people who are negative about this have missed the main thing……After so many many years our ABBA, who left their group after both couples separated and it stopped being fun, rekindled their friendship, their group spirit. The other thing is they are not young anymore, so I think this is just amazing, I think this is their way of saying thank you to us fans. A farewell given when they are not miserable about their divorces. They have come full circle to be able to happily make their final album. To me, I am in awe of this group, they were a favourite group of mine for as long as I can remember. I want to thank them for all they have done for music, for the world and for me. Sensational!

You know I grew up in the 70s as a teenager and during that decade ABBA and he Bee Gees completely took over the radio airways. Now 50 years later I've come to appreciate why they became so successful. It's a shame that both groups ABBA and the Bee Gees suffered so many tragedies, ups and downs, lows and highs. But now at the coming of the end of this generation those of us still alive can experience the culmination of all their efforts and hard work. All I can say is that these two groups brought so much joy to everyone around the globe. The laughter, The Joy, the happiness and the outstanding harmonies, melodies, and the Lyrics are timeless. And isn't it amazing how their music still is enjoyed by millions around the world still yet oday. Proof that they are true artists. They all stood the test of time and are 099still on top. I for one believe that they were gifts from God to lift us all when we had our own tragedies highs and lows ups and downs. You can always put on an ABBA or Bee gees song and it all just fades away they are certainly my drug of choice.

@albert trinidad "Don't Shut Me Down" and "Keep An Eye On Dan" are very radio friendly. Problem is they're not getting airplay because radio stations are ageist...playing music from those 70+ would be 'uncool'. Plus, the songs I mention weren't supported by a video and the band is not promoting together. But that's ok...they're doing it for their fans and as a vehicle to promote 'Voyage' concerts which will be part of their legacy. The teaser they released last week looked amazing!

Brilliant review Dan! I was sceptical too having known their original music. I was more than pleasantly surprised. In my opinion this is ABBA coming up to date. They aren't spring chickens anymore so no big dancing songs just plenty of heart felt down to earth songs which reflect all of us as we get older and more laid back. I think the album is a great tribute to the all the music they have produced over the past years with a humble potential end to their recording history. This is definitely a Voyage that will never been forgotten! Thank you ABBA for all the music!

Thanks for your thoughts. I’ve been a fan of Abba since I was pre-teenager.( I’m now nearly 59). My daughter also loves Abba, and she pre-ordered and got us both the vinyls for Christmas (she’s 23!) your comments were very insightful and lovely. Thankyou for not disappointing me. Great review, Dan. The more I listen, the more I hear fragments of earlier songs popping in and out. I loved 6 of the 10 songs as soon as I heard them and the other 4 have quickly grown on me. It is fantastic to hear ABBA again ... although to us fans, they have never really gone away.

I always bawl crying at Ode To Freedom. It's a masterpiece. The album is outstanding but this is a beautiful goodbye. An absolute work of art. The album moves me so much. It was the most beautiful gift. I also feel it revisits key moments in ABBA's discography and adds to them giving us a slice of all that went before. ABBA are a gift. I listened to the album with my parents both in their 70s and 80s and we connected once again as we always had with ABBA. ABBA made music about real life and ordinary things. The music is about everything we go through and everything we experience. That's why ABBA are my favourite band of all time and to me the most important band of all time

I've been a fan of ABBA ever since I watched it live on black and white television at the Eurovision song contest in 1974. With this last album, they made me and their true fans very happy.. Like all his other albums we know by heart, this album is the product of meticulous work. Those who make negative criticism either don't really know ABBA or they look at it from the wrong angle.. Este un album minunat, a rezistat influiențelor maneliste și păstrează aceeași curată linie melodică a formației - consacrată acum 40 de ani. M-am bucurat nespus când am citit că mulți fani au stat (chiar în frig și ploaie) în noaptea de 4 spre 5 noiembrie pentru a aștepta începerea vânzării albumului - ca în vremurile bune. Bravo ABBA ! This album is not "The Visitors" that I think is their prime album, but, and there is a but. This is Visitors, Arrival and voulez vou in one! With the release of Voyage and the surge of interest in ABBA, there are some saying that it's just nostalgia, people living in the past. I would argue that it's perspective. Back in the 70s, ABBA was very popular, but they were also dismissed by "serious" critics and the uber cool people as being bubblegum, trite, just fluffy pop music that was transitory and of little value. But now we've had 40 years to see what the music world can do and how that compares to ABBA's catalogue. And there is no way you can deny it: spin up ANY of ABBA's albums today and the music is just as good, just as fresh, just as catchy and melodic and fun as it ever was. New generations are being blown away by how good it all is. Perspective. We're all realizing that ABBA is genius, brilliance, the power of four incredibly creative artists who came together in a rare fusion of talent that left shock waves that will reverberate for generations to come.

I am a member of Choir of the Earth, a UK based virtual choir. One of the resident conductor/composers (you know, a man who Knows Music) Ralph Allwood MBE thought so much of their music he arranged 5 of their compositions for SATB chorus and though I am usually a classical singer only my love of their old hits made me say awww why not, Dancing Queen here I come. I had a great time. While I listen to this review, I am in awe of how they have maintained their voices; singing is not a passive art. Thank you for the music

A tad biased Dan, as a dedicated ABBA fan. But hey this is as special as it gets from what is the equal best band of my lifetime ( to the Beatles). The Beatles can be no more and most of us assumed Abba neither. But here they are back with us and a lovely selection of songs from fun to melancholy, from Irish bob to Tchaikovsky story. And in between lots of heart wrenching and warm melodies and lyrics. The best Abba album, probably not, and yet a masterpiece in its own right! Hoping this is not the end of Abba's Voyage, that somehow there might by a few more songs to come.

Remembering each of their previous albums in the late 70's and 80's, expectations were always v high, initial yum yum not sure reaction and then song after song would find its place. Example if you watch Abba concert Wembley 1979, voulez vous, reaction was so so vs sos or money money, money and other older material. After voulez vous and chiqituita became classics. Expect the tracks from this album similarly.

I love ‘just a notion’ as it reminds me of a new attraction/connection with someone you meet in a nightclub and you’re not quiet sure of it but feel somethings there. The album is beautiful. Hopefully the virtual tour comes to Australia as I want to go.
