Absolutely fantastic video. Abbas has a beautiful reef tank and has some excellent advice on running a successful tank. Looking forward more of this series.

Lovely tank. nice to see people's different approaches. sound and video (lighting) was decent too, which isn't straight forward but makes it so much better to watch

awesome video, getting out there to see other people's tanks, puts things in perspective for the hobby and highlights the differences between everyone's experiences. Looking forward to more!

I’m glad videos like this are done as I know there are some gems in the UK and we need someone like Reefdork to share, inspire and get the light on these reefers, so thanks for moving into this format of videos. However, I think this could be reduced further and more camera on the corals and tank. Can’t deny how good wWC coral videos are, I’m not talking about underwater cameras, just closer shots of the tank after the intro of the reefer. Parker’s reef does this good as well. I hope to see more and more closeup of the corals! I’m all about finding and finding some gems corals. Just my opinion!

Good too see someone else using the accursea calibration water. I was losing loads off lps (polyp bailout) i tried everything. It was all because my salinty was 1.020 and my refractometer was reading 1.025 It realy should be made common knowledge that using ro water too calibrate a refrac does not work... Great video tour Reef dork, and great tank (im with you on cable management too, best intentions till you have too preform maintenence 😂)

That tang is a Acanthurus pyroferus. Also known as a Chocolate tang or a Mimic Lemon Peel Tang. He called it a Mustard tang perhaps by accident.
@NorfolkReefer11 күн бұрын
What’s the difference?? I have a juvenile mustard tang which looks to be turning the same way as a chocolate. I think they are very similar fish. 🤷♂️
@Reefkpr111 күн бұрын
@@NorfolkReefer Maybe its the difference between USA and abroad?? Not sure. I'm not able to post a picture of what we in US call a Mustard tang but if you google search it, it should turn up. Not trying to be confrontational, I just happen to have that exact gorgeous fish and have done some research on it. Whatever it's call it's an awesome fish. I enjoyed watching mine turn from yellow to it's full adult colors. 👍
@NorfolkReefer11 күн бұрын
@@Reefkpr1how strange!! Acanthurus guttatus is also known as a mustard tang. Mine appears to be going more the chocolate tang look!! Either way I am happy!! Maybe it’s location and wholesaler identification 🤷♂️

@20:10 we call that the chocolate tang in the US. The mustard tang is the Acanthurus Guttatus here. (Not that the US naming convention makes any sense because it doesn’t!)

So the kalk mixers connected to the ATO? I was under the impression that was a bad thing? Sorry, still learning!
@ReefDork11 күн бұрын
You feed ro water into the kalkwasser stirrer which means you can choose how much you add. Which is different from putting kalkwasser into your ro reservoir - that way you have no control over how much kalk gets added and the ro pump sits in kalkwasser which will rot the pump
@NorthEastSpiders10 күн бұрын
@ReefDork ahhhh ok that makes sense. I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet and get a single continuous duty dosing pump aren't I 😅

Is there a solid doorstop drilled into the floor? All I keep thinking is the door swinging open and the handle smashing right into the tank.

So he does not dose kalkwasser just lets it dose at the same rate as evaporation?
@ReefDork10 күн бұрын
He doses it evenly throughout the day - just below the amount of daily evaporation
