My name is Kaiya Pelletier and I am documenting my metal journey as I discover and listen to metal music for the first time ever. That's when Abbath had to take over most instruments, due to Demonaz suffering from his condition. At the Heart of Winter is top 3, for sure. Abbath was always a joker, on stage too :) Sadly he later on got destroyed by alcohol/drugs and ruined his friendship with Demonaz. Still, there is hope for the future and maybe Immortal will be friends again. But that depends on Abbath. That being said, now that Demonaz is in action, Immortal sounds like its old-self again: fast and Ferocious. That's what set them apart from other pioneering bm bands.

@@ea297 I wouldn't necessarily agree with that fully. Although you're right, in that it's not exactly the same sound. But the riffs and speed, there is no denying to me that it's Demonaz back in business. No Battles in the North 2, but a modern album that is closer to it than to Damned in Black.

There is nothing wrong with the sound quality, it's your ears that aren't attuned to it. I hate modern "good" production black metal where everything is crystal clear in the mix. So boring to listen to. It's like listening to regular metal or radio pop.
