Beautiful song, but the message is wrong for today. No one owns anything or anyone. Life lend us people for a short while. Married for 56 years with children and grandchildren, I recognize that I do not own any of my kids or my wife. Family and friends pass through your life for a fleeting moment. That said, a generation or more, husband's thought they owned their wives and children. Commanded them with an iron fist. In parts of the world it remains a custom.
