I've watched a fair few of your videos and have just referred you to my local MP, James Gray (North Wiltshire), requesting that you should be recognised in some way for the wonderful work that you do for young women and for getting people outdoors in general. I'm a 53 year old bloke who bought a pair of boots and will walk the Ridgeway after watching your videos. Keep up the good work Ma'am.

Abbie, I so wish you could go into every school, you’re so enthusiastic and make it all so relevant. We started walking by using pathfinder books, with circular walks from 2-20 miles, Oh and a book with walks and tea rooms!

Yes, I love the content but you are articulate and engaging in your delivery, you would be a fantastic mentor for young people. I am much older than that but just did my bronze navigation course - this is super informative and inspiring. Thank you!

Good to see you’re still uploading, I’ve been hiking around the UK on my own for some time now (I’m 19 almost 20 but I have 0 friends lol so my own company is as tiring as some of the walks) and when I did the wolds way I watched your video on it way back in 2017 perhaps. Keep up the good work, perhaps one day our paths will cross! God bless you

Since then I’ve completed a coast to coast walk, the Pennines way up to Scotland, and had probably hundreds upon hundreds of hikes around Lincolnshire which is my home county, I know it like the back of my hand now

@RichJW I started going out and camping by myself around the age of 11 so you get uses to it, obviously i was always in the woods and stuff since before i can even remember, i was brought up a new age traveler living in a renovated bus in the lincolnshire wolds with my parents lol. You can build the courage by associating your walks with more than the sights, but also the history, the tales of old, religion etc. Turns a beautiful view into an old battlefield, resting place of giants and other imaginative tales to make yourself feel part of something bigger :D

My wife and I love your videos. You’ve never met us, but we have walked coast to coast with you, across the two moors way, and we’ve circumnavigates mount blanc together and we’ve done it from our armchair. That hardly seems fair (you end up doing all the work) so we are looking to regain our fitness levels and get back out into the great outdoors. Your videos are always so informative and we love the dashes of local history and colour you add when you visit somewhere interesting. We cannot tell you how much we admire you. Hope to bump into you in our travels one day. If you do requests, why not offa’s dyke?

Absolutely love your channel! You make me want to be out on the hills everyday! I'm Somerset based so the quantocks are about 10 minutes down the road - such a beautiful part of the country to live in! Thankyou for all your videos!

Very interesting chat. I have got myself moving since watching your videos. Went for my first walk on Saturday. Thanks for the enthusiastic presentation. The map is of course 1:25,000 and not 1:25, as you wouldn’t see beyond your garden. Haha

Hi Abbie, love your channel. I was wondering if you might do a follow up video - when you've got the time of course - about how to read a compass properly in conjunction with reading a map. I watched another youtube video about this skill and at first thought I've got the hang of this, then a few minutes later I felt like I needed a lie down! Rather complicated. It would really be appreciated.

Hi Abbie, I found joining the Ramblers Association helped me to get out and begin to Ramble and make friends initially because I was nervous but your vlogs are now helping me to advance my learning and perhaps organise a route one day. Thank you. I am learning so much from you and other experienced vloggers

Great video, I would also add that if you are wanting to get maps don't forget to check local classifieds like Gumtree as you're never quite sure what you might find second hand. For example when I was planning to do Tour du Mont Blanc myself, I managed to pick up both maps I needed second hand for £8 which is significantly cheaper than getting them new anywhere else. They were practically like new and still in their little plastic wallets as well, could hardly believe my luck!

Abbie I think you could make a MAJOR contribution at this time with a video(s) when we are all being told to self-isolate (especially those of us with underlying health probs), but we can still walk keeping a safe distance from each other. Your perspectives on mental-health in the present situation would be REALLY useful - and hoping that you are not struggling too much with all that is going on now.

Well done Abbie another great informative video. I also do solo walks and lead my local group once a month an everything you have mentioned in your video i have to do also for the safety of the group and myself Keep the videos coming. Ps love your smile and enthusiasm stay wild!

Abbie, I have decided to set myself the task of saying Naismiths Rule three times in a row real fast. You should do the same.If I ever get on you tube we’ll have a contest. No kidding, that was a thorough run down. You do some careful planning. There are so many places in the UK that are walker friendly and so much that’s interesting to see. Not so much in northeast Arkansas. Thanks for sharing with us. I like that great fungusy table.

Many thanks - very useful. I did not realise how much information and insight could be gained from maps (I was rubbish at Geography...). Re: National Trust - their website often gives information about toilets in their properties and car parks, and whether the cafes of their properties are accessible without paying to go in.

Fantastic content as always. Thank you 😊 I’d love to be able to support your projects financially but unfortunately I’m barely supporting myself & my family. my small way of supporting instead is by liking, sharing and directing like minded folk towards your videos. Please suggest if there is any other ways you can be supported. 👍 I’ve recently designed & created a StayWILD badge for my home Ed, 100% inspired by you. Involving over 50 activities and learning surrounding everything outdoors from physical and mental health benefits to making a neighborhood map of a nature walk, foraging, camping, bush crafts, conservation, befriending a local tree to study throughout the seasons. Climbing our first mountain, walking trails, weather, etc.. Loads of capacity for learning to create a lifelong love of the outdoors, with a shiny new badge & certificate to earn on completing the tasks. StayWILD 💖

Always great and useful information; cannot think of a better channel to get people out and about. And thankyou for using the word, “Orientate.” as people seem to be using , “Orient,” these days; is that another Americanism? I don’t know, maybe it’s just me but, so much of the English language seems to be being taken over.
