Every stall has their own way of preparing Ramly patty and the buns. For locals, Ramly Burger is just the patty. Eventhough Ramly has their own chain restaurant, most stall are operated by Individuals.

Most tourist try ramly burger at the end jalan alor. It isnt the best, especially when theyre greedy to suggest double beef cheese special.. the most expensive I think. whilst the best ramly for 1st timer should try normal beef burger single patty. some ramly stall also cut patty into half to make it well done (the original style in 80’s) but some says it is not juicy enough. then turn out to be uncook/raw they said. The mixture of sauces make the stall distinguish with the same patty supplied. therefore locals could identify which is the best. compare to foreigner or tourist who do not want this sauce or that sauces or without vege etc..

Great reaction guys....Ramly burger is very juicy/messy so preferable to take/bite it in the paper wrapper....most European prefer it compared to McD now haha....enjoy your trip in Malaysia

Jalan Alor is a rip-off. Locals don't usually go there. The prices there are double/triple sometimes quadruple of what it is usually of the same quality. As a local, I think we need to strongly discourage tourists to go there. As a general rule for small businesses, we Malaysians do not hike up prices for tourists but Jalan Alor go against our values. I guess it's fine to experience it once but do not make a habit of going there. A waste of your hard-earned money if I'm being honest. Just my opinion :)

Ramly exported all types of burger patties to Singapore except beef. That is because the company does not apply for the permit to export beef patties, as it is currently could not even meet the local demand for them. At least, that is the version I heard.

There are many combinations to serve Ramly Burgers. I prefer a simple Ramly burger with a bread, a patty wrapped in an omelette, and just a little bit of chili source. The original Ramly Burger is actually sufficient without mixing with additional ingredient. Just my opinion, if these make sense for you, you can ask the stall holder to customize the burger according to what you like. BTW, enjoy your stay in Malaysia.😊

6:14 It was not about the hygiene of the patty, it was merely about each country's bureaucracy on agri sourcing and preferred choice of source country. In Ramly's case, it is mainly due to no application for a license from the Singapore authorities to distribute their products. In addition to not having a license, Ramly’s beef supply is purportedly from India and the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) does not recognise beef imports from India. That's all. While the meat import from India is recognised by the authorities in Malaysia, it is not in Singapore. I believe every countries have their own jurisdiction on this matter, please do not give the impression of "it's probably unhygienic". Every food vendor and manufacturers in Malaysia have to get typhoid injection and are required to follow strict regulations before they are allowed to sell any food products to customers, street vendors included. And for food manufacturers, there's audit from multiple authorities to ensure everything is compliant, from sourcing, production, hygiene, halal certification even the pollution if any (including noise pollution or air pollution, etc).

The reason it was not in Singapore is because Ramly never applied for the permit to export there though they have other Other Ramly product sold in SIngapore. The reason they never apply for it is because they barely meet the demand in Malaysia in the first place.

The ramly burger singapore story is fake.. You can get ramly in singapore.. The story you tell was spread by racist chinese singaporean. Halal cert is higher standard than regular food safety standards. The preparation for the dish is However depends on the vendor. Some food vendor in singapore also practice poor hygiene how do you think they are perfect? A lot of food chain struggles to get halal cert in Malaysia even they been trying for half a decade. As a Malaysian, this burger was not good enough. Good burger normally, it will cut the meat in the middle. Put the spices and to ensure the meat is fully cooked. Not just cook the meat like that. For those in KL please recommend another good burger stall other than this.
